It is a **** deal. We play the home game when they are at their strongest, have to play 2 road games, and no football. Horrible.

This is a coup for college basketball fans of the Memphis Tigers.

1 home game and 2 road games. Fantastic.

It's a great opportunity and has potential to be one of the best games each year.

You're silly/boring if you want to avoid playing UT.
Tigers aren't cowards and we don't like orange, lets go beat them and claim the state.

One, we are allowing the cowards to dictate terms. I would imagine that when this was set up, that our admins at least asked a time or two about football. UT must be geniuses compared to us for being able to schedule one without the other.

Two, 1 home game and 2 road games makes no sense.

COGS I agree. I think they need us more for basketball than we need them. It should be rotating basketball home and home and also include FOOTBALL. Here we are acting like their little brothers letting them dictate to us rather than using our leverage. If it does not benefit both of our programs then I think we could do just as well without playing the Vols at all in anything. We got the worst end of this deal.

dear god, you and stammers are completely insane.....I say insane because nobody is that dumb. we've got a home and home in basketball with a neutral site in Nashville. Nashville is a great place to spend a weekend. We need the games worse than they do.

we need them a lot worse than they need us.

I don't get the hate for TN. Past is past. Different leadership in place now. Tennessee will most likely be a ranked team next season when we play them. Tremendous RPI boost.

Would love to see Kansas again. Due time for a payback.

Because of Penny, the building will be full again regardless of the who we play.

If you don't get it you need to do some homework. F**K The Big Yellow.

Not really a fan of playing the Vols in any sport, because it seems we either get psyched out or have bad luck or something like that, since we lose more often as favorites than we make up for in upsets.

But if we're going to do a home and home in basketball, we should stop just stop there. The Nashville game may be a on a neutral court, but the Vols will have a home crowd advantage.

So if some fans can't afford it then they are not fan enough? I guess only the well off deserve the entertainment of the local basketball team? I'm fine with the arrangement but the only weak ass I see is that statement.

If you cant afford to ride with a friend to a basketball game and buy a ticket to a game in Nashville then you can't afford to go to a more then one home game in Memphis . A university cannot make plans based on people who cannot afford to go to a game 208 miles away.

It amazes me how we have fans who want to be big-time but when it is time to put up any $$$ they balk.

They probably balk cause they don't have the spare income. I'm sure there's way more tiger fans that don't have the income than there are season ticket holders and donors. It amazes me how I see people lecture other fans simply cause they can't pony up. I'm sure there's plenty who would take the offer if you gave em 200 to go.

My grandfather turned me to tiger basketball 40yrs ago. He never could afford to go to a game but he wore the hat and the shirts. He was one of the biggest fans I ever knew.

We have more than 30,000-50,000 fans who can afford to go to a game in Nashville.

You just proved my point. You said your grandfather could not go to a home game or a Nashville game. If the people that can afford to go sit on their asses then utk will have a bigger crowd.

Catering to fans that cannot afford to travel 200 miles is not what bigtime programs do

I was thinking about it from the perspective of the local (Nashville area) interest and not the cost. To me it's similar to Arkansas saying they will play us in Memphis and Fayetteville, but they want a third game in Little Rock. Some Tigers would attend, but it would most likely be a big Hog crowd.

Memphis will host Yale as part of its 2018-19 non-conference schedule, per a source.

Why so, Bengal?

Bookoodles of Butts in the seats are always a noice look---along with Fearlessness of our rivals.

We have fallen behind. Meet them head on, I say. lol

It also gives UT more free exposure in the market.

Considering they were in the dance and we weren't they are getting their own exposure over us this year.
