RE: I don’t Underestimate our Retuners
We need a serious upgrade in talent to content for an NCAA bid next season. Fortunately, Penny understands that obtaining sufficient talent is his number one priority. Ideally, we can add significant quality and retain the best core of our existing roster.

When you haven't sniffed the postseason in four years you don't turn down the NIT. No offense intended but that's silly.

While very few programs would turn down an NIT invitation, I do agree with your general sentiments. From a fan's perspective, the NIT is a total snooze fest. You essentially have a bunch of teams competing to see who is the best second tier program.

Having said that, I'm sure the coaches and players from schools like Utah and Penn State enjoy the experience and are happy to extend their season.

Eh. I think Texas Tech would have done the same thing this year had they not played in the NIT.

I agree. Jamal, Parks, and Thornton all got better as the season went on. If Tyler Harris signs, Jamal will probably leave, but Parks and Thornton will probably stay. Brewton and Davenport are probably still up in the air about staying, and who really cares if Azab and Rhodes leave. I expect over 75% of the remaining players will stay.

Our main problem was not being able to put the ball in the basket, we need shooters, this will help the big guys down low. Next, we need guys athletic enough to full court press and play defense (Memphis basketball). If this improves anything is possible.

I'm totally guessing here but it seems that from an APR standpoint, it would be better to graduate the seniors and let the underclassmen transfer than the other way around with an equal number on each side.

Correct?

Of course, Elliot was standing past the three line calling for the ball.

Josh misplayed Elliot and Sallie.

Sallie was better.

Elliot had the name and the thumbs up for years so he went pro.

Never did anything.

Stayed hurt, I am not sure if he is even playing anymore.

It's like that.

Didn't like Elliot Williams as a player.

Especially as a "go to" guy.

Appreciate him being a Tiger but have always felt the team would have been better without him.

Everything ran through him.

Dead end.

He was extremely injury prone too.

Extended to the pros.

I wouldn't have taken a chance with him if I am GM.

You don't get extra points if a player graduates.

Same points if a player transfers in good standing

As others have said, we need the NIT because it represents progress, turning a corner. Also, the extra practice.

I agree that normally, it's mostly nothing for fans. Until you win a couple of games. Then it gets fun and interesting.

Fortunately, Penny understands and has said that getting a solid staff is his number one priority. Recruiting will be next - and will be directly related to the staff. I expect a staff announcement on Tuesday.

Well bless your heart, you don't like the NIT.

I assume you don't know that the NIT is owned by the NCAA.
