I wish Lomax nothing but the best. I'm jut voicing my opinion. Hope I'm wrong. No one really knows, including me. It's not an easy adjustment in a game of giants...well maybe not giants. Every team has scholarship players and 1/2 of all conference games are on the road.
You're right. Joe Jackson was a special player.
JJ will forever be one of the most underrated players in Memphis history. Unfortunately, many expected him to the be the next Allen Iverson and when he was not that he was considered a disappointment and bust. However, it was an extremely productive player over his 4 years and a main factor in JP getting 7 years at Memphis...
Josh Pastner really hampered JJs development. Anfernee Hardaway is going to be a players coach.
Why can't so many in here accept the fact that JJ was NOT the elite guard that so many want to remember him as. He was a decent guard but as far as point guards go he was never as great as some want to make him out to be.
The absolute minimum mark when ranking a PG is a 2-1 ratio in assist to turnovers. His Sr year was the ONLY time he reached that plateau and had a negative ration his first season. A career 1.5-1 ratio. Never finished top 50 any year in assist to turnover ratio. His best season he was 83rd in nation in assist to turnover ratio. Every other year he never made top 100.
Serious Question:
Do you sit in your room and think of the dumbest thing to post?
Joe Jackson was the reason that Josh Pastner got a contract extension, the reason that USC wanted Pastner and the real reason we had hope for 4 years. when JJ left the program fell apart

Do you ever take your head out of your arse and actually look at the real world? Take off your freaking blue colored glasses for once. His numbers do not support the claim that he was the 2nd coming. His HIGHEST rating in asst/to ratio was in the mid 80s nationally in his final year.
Before that he NEVER finished in the top 100 nationally. He was good WHEN he wanted to be and that was usually during the conference tournament.
Won awards in CUSA only due to the fact that no other team had equal talent levels to Tigers.
Went undrafted. Played in Griz summer league but did not make team. Had a 3 week cup of coffee with the Suns prior to season starting. Then headed over seas where he spent a lot of time sitting the bench. Before returning to G league play.

Yet somehow, after he got away from Pastner, was able to lead his d-league team to the championship. Interesting.
You mean Bakersfield where he started only 18 of 37 games and were knocked out in semi final rounds or the NA Suns where they finished below 500?

I will agree, he would have been a better player and had a better career if he had played for a real coach that could have groomed and developed him. Unfortunately for him, he had Pastner as a coach and was held back.
