Because you need guys who can go get bucket. Lomax is the heart of the team. Harris is the gunner. You can't have enough guys who can create their own shot, and go get buckets when you are in late shot clock/ or late game situations.

Aren't Lomax and Harris both pt. guards and Hagan at 6'4" a 2 guard like Martin.

Kansas State just beat Kentucky with like 5 guards on the floor. Not saying its ideal but they're in the Elite 8.

No doubt they can play together. It's all interchangeable. But I want the ball in Hagan's hands if he plays here. He's a phenomenal passer. And can score.

Because you do not pass on top 10 talent that will likely be here for only 1 year. Lomax and Harris are both 4 year guys.

Yep, because one of them was able to beat man coverage, get to the hole for a layup to win the game!

That's about like saying, why did Cal recruit Rose...he already had Kemp and Andre Allen.

Come on

He aint here yet.

I’m confident everyone here knows that ^. I don’t understand why you find it necessary to post that.

Tubby offered 5*s as well is the point...

Come on that's ridiculous. Lomax and Harris are a league above Kemp and Allen. No comparison.

If I am remembering right Kemp was ranked higher coming out of high school than either Lomax or Harris. Not to say they won t be quality player because I believe they will very good contributors. However, you take a top 10 player whenever you get the chance.

RE: PG Ashton Hagan...
If you watched that Kentucky game you could see both teams had big guards. I think that is what you need to be successful.

Harris could be great in college but he is tiny.

People say Hagan is a Kentucky lean.

Kemp was a 4* recruit and a consensus top 50 player.

Lomax and Harris are 3* recruits ranked in the 100s.

That’s true, but I know who’s better, and it’s not Kemp.

That's an opinion and I respect it.

However, ratings are there for a reason. Lomax with the right group of players can be really good.

Hagans is a pg.
It's my understanding that Cal wants Hagans to stay '19.

He can play either guard spot. Per article below, he claims to be comfortable off the ball as well;

With how hard he is being recruited by various schools, the odds are probably not that great we get him anyway.

I don't see it happening. Penny hasnt had the time invested that other schools have had, but hey atleast he is taking swings.

Yep. Hagans is a PG in the sense he's the primary ball handler. His skill set is well suited for 2 guard. He and Lomax could play off each other quite well.
