Meh, these positions have grown pretty common place the past few years. Its a sign that these power conference schools have too much damn money. This position allows a recently canned coach to "rehabilitate" himself for a year or two so they can land back on their feet at a good job.

In an ideal world, these positions should be going to young coaches trying to work their way up in the ranks, but they're going to veteran coaches.

The funny thing is that a plan like this backfires on the p5. This is cronyism. When another Power 5 program takes a chance on a Butch or Tuberville type, this gives an advantage to the g5 who hires a worker bee.

I suspect this Intern thing is just a way of paying him little so that the offset against TN is as little as possible.

Wasn't Joker an offensive consultant or a passing game consultant? He is a coach that isn't allowed to recruit.
