There was a time when I couldn't get out of bed without a little dose of MemphisTigers.org, or, go to bed without my nightcap. Been gone for a while, it just wasn't fun anymore. Traveled all over the country following the Tigers during the good times and got to meet plenty of you folks here.

Look forward to doing it again.

Welcome back! We need more fans on this board. It is starting to get better now. It was negative and dead for a while. That just proves that Penny will fill up the forum once again.

Turns out the passion couldn't be kicked out of us by a half decade of brazen mediocrity.

I would assume that everyone on this board is on “board” with the hiring of Penny and are excited about the future.

Not really. I love the Tigers and always will. I didn't get any joy from it for a long time and had to go. The Pastner years did me in...

I've got to tell you, I was one who was scared the the passion had been kicked out of me.

I didn't think I truly cared the way I used to about Tiger basketball anymore. Until about two weeks ago, when light pierced the tunnel.

I am looking forward to watching basketball again.

I never gave up watching...every game till the end and sometimes twice.

Made my friend watch too. lmao.

He was in spellbound awe during some of those games.

I converted so many people around here. One kid (thirtyish) who works at the resort where we commandeered the bar for Memphis Football games met me at the door on Saturday night..


"Hey I hear Penny Hardaway is gonna be your new coach, and he's bringing in the players like Wiseman."

Another guy at the bar chimed in. " Yea, I grew up during the Penny Hardaway era--love that guy."

It's nationwide, folks.

I am so excited!!! Even though we live in Florida, we use to follow the Tigers all over the country and to a few off shore locations during tournament time! I hope we can get back to those days!

The last time I spent this much time on MT.org in a single day, we were all trying to figure out if Cal was staying or going.

I'm glad there is excitement in the air once again!
