And I hope he brings back the Alley off the jumpball...that always amazed me how many times that worked.

How many points did he score in the Maui classic? There were five minutes of highlights from just two games.
I grew up in Memphis watching John Wilfong, Elliot Perry, Penny Hardaway, and Lorenzen Wright. I just assumed that was the way basketball was played. It wasn't till later I learned just how special those days were.

We were talking about that on our rivals board this past weekend.

On a side note. Spoon sat in for Sadler at a radio show a few weeks back. I couldn't stop myself from asking If he and Ben Spiva were facebook friends after all these years.

Didn't PENNY bounce/throw the ball off the backboard and dunk in a game when he played for the TIGERS---or am I dreaming it ?

Prop 48 screwed it all up, but Penny was supposed to play with Elliot Perry his Sr year.

Probably would have made that Elite team in '92 even better with Penny having a full year already under his belt playing with Billy and Ernest Smith, Douglas, Madlock. David Vaughn was so dynamic his FR year.

Vaughn was far more athletic and aggressive pre injury. He was still really good post injury, but he was not nearly as aggressive and did not run the floor the same way.

It was like he lost some fire or an edge he had after the injury. It looked more mental than physical.

Mine, too. A close second is one Michael Wilson did at Cincinnati in the first half of a game. I have never seen anyone get that high off of the floor.

He may have. But he did it a lot at Treadwell. Sometimes the ref would wave it off calling offensive goaltending, much to the dismay of the crowd. Fun times.

My favorite dunk of all time

Tony madlock threw it from the free throw line. The ball landed near the foul line on the other end, took one big bounce and penny caught it and dunked it. I've never seen another dunk like it.

And i have it on vcr tape. Thanks to triple T, i have it on dvd. Triple T posted it on youtube but it's been taken off. I still got the dvd copy of it. There were lots of highlights in that game.

He mentioned in the press conference getting back to Memphis basketball - running and flying all over the court.
