Gary Clark (last post for a while)
I'm gonna make this my last post for a while and check out like the rest of the guys seem to be doing, take s vacation from this board.

Unfortunately Gary isnt really a type of player to put the team on his back. Its just not his game, but he did everything he does all the time and was the the only.player making plays down the stretch still. I feel so sick that he has to go out like this, but he had a great career here. Gary Clark was definitely "not the problem" for us tonight or his entire career. Seems like a really good guy and I'm sure he will do well with whatever he does in life.

It is guard game today. Wings and PGs that control the ball win you games.

Cumberland fouling out killed us. But I completely understand why Mick left him in. He was the guy with the best chance of stemming the tide, IMO.

As much as I disagreed with much of what Mick was doing the last 12 minutes yesterday I think leaving Cumberland in was 100% the right play. he fouled out on some BS, but you had to leave your key guy in to not let it get to the point where you could lose. It didn't work, but taking him out and giving Nevada a better chance to get back in the game was not the play. If he could have helped them get a couple more baskets, so UC could legitimately run clock UC wins.

Agreed. It was a stupid, unnecessary foul by JC that had no purpose. You have to be smarter than that with 4 fouls on you. Mick trusted him and the kid made a dumb play. That said, when it's lose and go home, I think you do exactly what Mick did, let the kid play and hope you've coached him up enough not to get a knucklehead foul.

Huggins used to say "You only have 3 fouls to play with. Because you're going to get 1 one bogus foul and the 5th one your out, so really you can only give 3 fouls.". True words.

Coach Huggs is right. My kid has a tendency to pick up one or two dumb fouls a game. He's getting better at that but last night he even said after JC's fouls that it looked like one of his!
