Nevada didn't WIN their game against UC... UC lost it for themselves.

Hard to say, but this is pretty bad. Everyone knows our reputation is for choking in March. Could there be a better example than today.

Numerically, VA was a better team than us, losing to a worse team than our opponent. On the other hand , Mick came into this with so much to prove, and instead presided over a record setting collapse.

You guys got to be kidding me. UVa lost to a #16 seed. We lost to a borderline top 25 team.

I didn't say I wasn't disappointed/embarrassed for our team. But, I do not agree that it is worse than UVa's exit. Not the least bit.

Nevada has been doing this all season. Just look at their second half comeback against Texas and UNLV in the last couple of weeks. UC lost to a team that will likely finish in the top ten, UVa lost to a team that won't even be top 100.

It does help that UMBC frankly owned UVA from the start of that game as well and then lost in the 2nd round to KState...

It also helps that Xavier blew a 14 point lead in the late game so that the narrative became "Nashville is all about comebacks."

Yeah, it's not even close. 5 years from now ask anyone what 1 seed was the first to lose to a 16 seed and the majority will be able to tell you Virginia. 5 years from now ask anyone what team lost after being up 22 in the second half and most outside Cincinnati will have no clue. Major comebacks happen, they are celebrated in the moment and then forgotten. 16 over a 1 seed will live on until the next time it happens, which may be a long time.

Mack may move on to Louisville now with his four seniors departing but the other undeniable fact is he's actually accomplished more in the postseason in a shorter tenure than Mick has.
