Fake news you are spreading. Who is used to .500 seasons? Below is Hawkins stats
Seven MAC West titles
Three MAC West titles last six years
Seven 20 win seasons
Two MAC championships
All the butt hurt because MAC media picked WMU to win it all this years. Nacho did you attend the social media meeting today with Hawkins? Or is it safer behind the keyboards to be an expert?
Oh, please!
Hawkins has been an outstanding coach at WMU. The accomplishments from the past you have listed demonstrate that.
However, the question is not what has been done in the past, but what can be accomplished NOW and in the FUTURE.
Can you say with 100 percent certainty that Hawkins is the coach who will bring WMU back to MAC Championship contention? If there is any doubt, why shouldn't WMU be considering a leadership change? We play for championships.
Frankly, I would not be comfortable firing Hawkins now because I respect what he has accomplished "in the past" and genuinely like the guy. However, I am not 100 percent confident he is the man to lead Western Michigan basketball back to championship contention. This past season soured me, a lot. I understand both sides of this situation.
KB made the right choice for football by removing Cubit. She probably should have done it after the 2008 season when it became obvious WMU was never going to be anything but mediocre under his leadership. Is that where we are now with men's hoops? Is Hawkins the leader WMU needs to win its next MAC Championship?
