Too old? He and Penny played together.

I think he’s talking about Matlock, the Andy Griffith character. Because his name is spelled with a d, Madlock.

Yea... this place is pretty unforgiving on spelling mistakes... thats funny tho!

COGS tho??? tho ???? try though !!!!!!!

I wouldn't trust any former Calipari assistants either.

Maybe I'm silly.

Roccaforte has been far removed from Calipari for many years now and has done his own thing; makes no sense for him to sabotage Penny on behalf of Cal, as it’s being insinuated here

Was more referring to Barbee but still.

Is Barbee the main staff recruiter for Wiseman?

Penny could fill up a stat sheet at forward with his rebounding, shot blocking, scoring, passing and his knack for getting steals.

Was Madlock's mom the one who went to the media because she didn't think Tony was getting showcased properly?

If the AC's are:

Roccaforte
Madlock
Miller

Then I'm not sure who helps Penny with the X's and O's side of his job. And dont tell me Roccaforte. Cal wouldnt let that guy into practices when at Memphis. Had him for recruiting only.

Not sure, but thats an interesting angle.

"Jeffries made the decision to pick UK a while ago. On Sunday — one day after leading Olive Branch to a state championship — he called Calipari with the news.

“He was excited,” Jeffries said. “He said he couldn’t wait to get me on board.”

As soon as he tweeted his commitment message Monday night, Jeffries got a text message from UK assistant coach Tony Barbee"

"Barbee was an assistant at Memphis under John Calipari before embarking on his own head coaching career, then returning to Calipari’s staff at Kentucky. Barbee is also the lead recruiter on D.J. Jeffries, who committed to UK for the class of 2019 last week and played for Hardaway’s Team Penny squad on the Nike circuit last summer. Barbee is not recruiting any of UK’s 2018 signees or any of the Cats’ remaining targets from that class." Dan Wolken USA TODAY

Rocc was usually on the road for Cal, and didn't do much with practice or games. BUT, that was 15 years ago. He's spent 5 years as a HC since then, along with currently serving as Buzz's Associate HC. Pretty sure he's picked up some of the knowledge. Unless you're going to retired 20-year former HC route, Rocc is the exact kind of HC experience who would want to be here.

Is the presser going to be in the HoF, or on-campus somewhere? Surely they won't do it at the Forum to tie in the "homecoming" aspect.

Going to be lots of fans wanting to be there, so I’m sure it will be the Forum. I’m going for sure.

RE: Penny Announced Tuesday
So, we get him announced quickly, so he can start putting his staff together, recruiting, and other things he needs to do. I think it is important to get started right away, and to make that splash he needs. I know Penny works hard, and he’ll do a great job. The first 5 months is very important to have everything assembled. The most important thing is getting his system in for the players to learn within these five months.
