Use of the term Cinderella is B.S.
When that term first was coined it only refered
To a team that may have had a losing record and then won their conference tourney and went on
To win a game or two in the ncaa tourney

Now they refer to any mid major that beats a higher seed as cinderella even though they have been winning all year.
Marshall, WKU, MTSU and ODU are teams with winning records not Cinderellas
They were teams either left out of the tourney or
Not given the proper seed

Face it, if your team is not in the PAC12, SEC, ACC, B12, or B10 and your team goes on a run in the tourney...you're a cinderella team. That's just how it is. Shouldn't take away or diminish the sweetness of victory though.

I feel the term is perfectly acceptable for 90% of non power conference teams that make it out of the first weekend.

If you make it to the Sweet 16 from a non power conference, unless you are a perennial tourney team and/or highly ranked...well... if the shoe fits, I guess.

But I'd say you have to be a major underdog to be called "Cinderella" prior to the second weekend.
