Virginia. It wasn’t just the first ever. It was 20 pt ANNIHILATION at the hands of a team who lost by 44 to Albany 6 weeks ago.

UVA should be pretty embarrassed at this point.

Yep, if the Pac places 4 teams in the Final Four next year, this year will be quickly forgotten.

Before tonight we could not calculate the chances of a 16 seed winning a game because division by zero is a singularity. But now we can. It's 135 to 1.

It will take a very long time for Virginia to live this down.

If only TSU had more defense. They scored 83.

Top 25 Middle Tennessee. Not Invited. One-bid non-ESPN CUSA once again advances past first round in a so-called upset.

RE: Who's had it worst in this tournament?
So you're telling me that wasn't an upset? Even if it's overrated as an upset, it's still an upset.

And Middle Tennessee should try not gagging up a sure at-large bid with losses to teams they should beat (including Marshall, that game was at home). Beating multiple teams with a pulse wouldn't hurt either. Unfortunately for them, Marshall wasn't a good loss until now. As the committee was evaluating, they thought it was a pair of bad losses.

Marshall? Who’s even heard of Marshall? Certainly not as a basketball school?

I’m just saying that the committee systematically underseeds CUSA and shortchanges them at-large bids. Four years in a row they’ve won first round games and I think all four were as 9-15 seeds.

I’m also saying that you were right to be as paranoid about your team’s at-large down the stretch even though every one was saying they had it locked up.

I think that conferences that prove themselves should get a second auto-bid for a regular season champ or a tourney runner up, if they’ve proven a track record over multiple years. But I can’t think of a single reason the power brokers would want to make that change.

Marshall was overseeded if anything. UNCG may be the only team you have a legit case Marshall should be ahead of.

Stop it, C-USA was terrible before this year. The only team outside the rich football conferences that should have gotten a bid was Middle Tennessee.

St. Mary's would like a word with you. That was the bigger snub.

Way bigger. St. Mary's was, at best, a Final Four caliber team but unfortunately they picked up one too many bad losses against their weak schedule.

Kansas. Did you see the inept refs in their game against Seton Hall? I didn’t know that the pirates had a such a distinguished drama department.

Maybe next time St Mary’s will not refuse games against good teams.

Tired of hearing about st. mary’s, we had to overcome officiating as bad as (not good enough to get in the Big 12) houstun’s free throw shooting.

Given that UVA made "history", I'm not taking anything away from that.

But.....

The PAC is supposed to be a power conference. They only had three teams qualify.

One lost in the play in game.

One got beat by freeking St. Bonaventure.

One got dismantled in the first round.

Of the 12 teams in the conference, ONE made it to 64 and NONE made it past that.

Pathetic for a conference that's supposed to be a P5.
