Who's had it worst in this tournament?

Given that UVA made "history", I'm not taking anything away from that.
But.....
The PAC is supposed to be a power conference. They only had three teams qualify.
One lost in the play in game.
One got beat by freeking St. Bonaventure.
One got dismantled in the first round.
Of the 12 teams in the conference, ONE made it to 64 and NONE made it past that.
Pathetic for a conference that's supposed to be a P5.
Have to agree, as the conference they had the worst, but as an individual school UVA had the worst defeat ever. Thomas Jefferson probably spun in his grave.

Louisville fans.
-- Team gets snubbed. Maybe deservedly.
-- And path opens up for Kentucky that makes the NCAA tourney look like the UKIT from years past.
Screw you Arizona, and Virginia.

UVA can't change their 2018 tournament embarrassment. But they can extinguish the pain if they come back next year and reach the Final Four, for example. Easier said than done.

You don't live something like that down. You can soothe the pain but not totally live it down.

Yup, when Duke lost as a 15 seed, they never recovered or lived it down.
I am glad to see a 16 seed finally win. I hope they can upset KSU. I love Cinderella stories. For the ACC, the UVA Orange units have just been replaced by Syracuse Orange units.

Umm, Duke has multiple national titles, goes to the Final Four, on average, every three or so years since Coach K became head coach, is routinely ranked in the top 10 and goes to the Sweet 16.
Virginia didn't become relevant again until the last few years. They'll be made fun of for some time, especially if they don't stay relevant.
That and it was a 16-seed, not a 15-seed.

Not saying UVA won't have to hear it from the other ACC fan bases. My co-worker, UNC, and I, NCSU, were talking about if we ever thought 16 would beat a 1. We both joked, Duke had the record with 2 losing to a 15. UVA now gets that honor of the highest seed to be beat in a tournament. Still, it is not like it will impact or devastate UVA in basketball. I do get why the lower conferences that can't get more than 5 bids would enjoy the upset. Is is the nature of the beast.

UVA still collects NCAA units earned by other schools, PAC12 teams only earned 3 units this year...why I voted for PAC12

BB777,
Actually CBS is loving the attention and PR with the upset, ESPN does not really get money from the NCAAT. So how much they enjoy, I have no idea.
BTW, maybe next year the AAC will get past the the three team average and get by the first weekend, but hey why break tradition.

I think in some ways, CBS was a HUGE winner in Virginia going down. Virginia's style not exactly the best for TV. So for a 1 to go down- it was perfect that it was Virginia. Plus I'm sure the game going on right now is getting good ratings...

I think Cinci also gets a nomination after blowing a 22 point lead with 10 to play.

S20, I totally agree. It is like watching the Dean Smith 4 corners or Princeton offense. Hey if you can win with it, all the power to you. As for watching, I will go with the what the late Mouth of the South Bill Currie said during the 1968 ACC Tournament game in which Duke and State mostly stood around and played to a 12-10 final score, Currie said on the air that the action was about as exciting “as artificial insemination.”
