Not even close. Chaminade was basically a tall YMCA team. UMBC was a minor conference champion in D-I.

I'd never thought I would see the day where a #16 seed would beat a #1.

LOL. UVa played only 2 OOC road games all year long. They beat a 'no postseason' VCU team by 7 points and lost at WVU.

I gave up on it after Penn lost. Seeing what happened to Vermont in the NIT, I figured the AEC wasn't a great conference and couldn't field a good team.

135-1

Makes Cuse's 15/2 upset loss to Richmond seem not so bad...glad we shook that 25 year old monkey off our back.

My brackets were incredibly good-until this game. Had UVA losing in the final.

Stanford over USC - at the time it was played - was a pretty mind bending upset. It has had a positive knock-on effect as Stanford really stopped being afraid of people since then.

I wouldn't put Miss State over UConn on that list. Miss State had a really good team. UConn was definitely a better team, but even the most dominant teams are bound to lose sometime.

Miss State over UConn is more like North Carolina State's win over UCLA in the 1974 men's Final Four, which ended UCLA's run of 7 straight national titles.

The Pac 12 would like to thank the University of Virginia--their Adsense from the round of 32 is far more obvious than their own.
