Go Marshall! Please beat the sheeeet out of Bob Huggins and his team. Here's a story that might provide the Herd with a little motivation.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nc...434224002/

Quote:He (Bob Huggins) elaborated then (in 2014), when Marshall wasn’t nearly as good and it didn’t benefit West Virginia’s NCAA tournament credentials to play the Thundering Herd.

“It’s not in our best interest to play a team who – this is the fifth time in ten years that they’ve been 160 in the RPI or worse,” he said on the show then. “How’s that in our best interest? It’s not in our best interest. It’s not in the best interest of West Virginia basketball.”

so what's wrong with what higgins said? you want your team to play the best team to help your cause, not some other teams.

Huggins cancelled the long-time series with Marshall and said he would only play them in Morgantown. You don't think Marshall's players and coaches should be fired up about that?

Look, I know you're just a UNT grad, but even you should be inspired by that if it was directed at your school. If not, don't complain about P5 school's only wanting to play G5's at home.

Funny thing is, they'll play coppin state, fordham, NJIT?, Morgan State, Long beach, wheeling jesuit, etc.

Its purely about them not being able to defend the mantra that they are so much better than us, when we pull off short xyclical runs of clearly being better than they are, like wod habe happened in 2014-2015 in football, a win last season or this year in basketball, etc.

So basically, he complains our RPI, and then says we're welcome to come to their place and play in Morgantown whenever we want? That seems like talking out both side of his rear.

I do feel like this is shaping up to be a win for us. We're freeplaying on the house's money, and they know they mustn't lose. It'll be interesting to see how tight WVU comes out. I think we win this and go on to the Sweet 16 to play Villanova.

Hmmm you mean like how La Tech won't play a certain team 30 mins away from them? A bit ironic don't you think

this is what i don't get...is this a true statement? i don't know...but one team can't complain about other schools not playing them then not play other schools that are regional rivals to them...

yes, i am a lowly north texas grad...know nothing about the amazing sport of college basketball like others, but higgins said nothing wrong. heaven forbid a school doesn't want to play north texas...fine, so be it...my school will play someone else

The issue with what he said is that they annually play several OOC games against teams with RPI in that 160 and higher range, so the reasoning he gave is flawed (to put it politely).
