Naa Ohio winging a couple seven years ago did not get us a second bid... Those bids are won by scheduling hard, getting some quality wins, and avoiding awful in conference losses.

I was rrferring to the respect aspect of it and not the 2 bids. With Buffalo returning most of the team they would start higher up the preseason rankings.

I'm "Sunshine Steve" but if EMU can keep its team together minus our senior, Tim Bond, we'll be very tough next year.

JT4, Minnie and Jackson are a pretty sweet nucleus. 02-13-banana

I can see EMU beating UB in the MAC tourney and getting two bids. 03-cloud9

I think only Miami / BSU are out... CMU and EMU both won

Unless they make a deep run...no.

People don't really remember these games unless you went to either school or are from a small conference.

It sucks, but it's reality. A team like Ohio is remembered because they went to the Sweet 16 and nearly made it to the elite 8.

Well the MAC women just proved to the NCAA that this conference is for real! Two dominating victories! Both CMU and Buffalo looked really good!

After a pretty crappy football season, the last week has been nice to be a MAC fan. UB's win was great to see and is part of a men's basketball season that many of us feared would be awful, the ladies are proving that we're legitimately a strong women's hoops conference as well.

And yet our runner-up (Toledo) couldn't even get a NIT bid.

This season could really have a big impact on MAC women's hoops. CMU and Buffalo are really good and the league has several other solid established programs. You can see how the balance of the league pushed it's 2 premier programs to improve as the season went on. MAC was back and forth w AAC for 7th/8th ranked conference and our #2 just blew out their #2 team, so, outside of UConn (and that's like out the house, down the block around the bend outside) the MAC is proving to be a better league. MAC also beat up the A10 in crossover games this year, had some good wins over the Big East and Big 12 and you can definitely say the league top to bottom is the best non power conf out there in women's hoops and very competitive with most of those P5 ypte leagues too.

It will be interesting to see what next year brings. It looks like the top three teams - Central, Buffalo, and Ball State - probably will not be quite as good next year as they were this year. Miami, Ohio, and Eastern Michigan, though, should all be stronger. I know that Eastern and Miami each has a highly touted freshman recruit. I wonder if there are teams that have significant transfers who will be eligible next year, such as Buffalo (Dillard) and Central (Kelly) had this year.

Probably not, but we shouldn't be the laughing-stock of the G5 in hoops next year.

Need a couple teams to just completely dominate to have any shot at 2 bids, and we haven't seen that in several years. (or even just one completely dominate team but still lose the MAC Championship game)
