04-cheers

Unfortunately, I had flashbacks of Kent Bazemore grabbing his and bending over.

02-13-banana +1 one of the most over rated coaches ever, in my uneducated opinion.

That guy parlayed his final 4 run into a great coaching job for himself while leaving a program in the dust. Karma is sweet

By no means am I a Coach L fan but if I'm remembering correctly, George Mason brought that on themselves by not doing more to lock him down after the Final Four run. They might not have kept him out of the power conferences forever but Miami was the first serious hiring threat and Mason couldn't/wouldn't step up to the mark. It's easy for me to spend someone else's money, sure, but Mason had a small window to turn the 15 minutes of fame into something longer-lasting, and they whiffed (especially by hiring Hewitt, fresh off a failure at Ga Tech).

I don't mind the complaining about coaches leaving as long as you wouldn't take a new job with a big raise if it was offered.

Its more than just taking the raise though. A better analogy would be like working for the EPA and actively working to make the environment better, and then taking a job with a huge polluter because the money is great. Its still possible to want to protect the environment and be vocal about it while working for the polluter and trying to change it from the inside. But things like that don't seem to happen often. Maybe Kermit still champions the MMs and is vocal about the inequities facing the non-P5. It could happen, but I doubt it.

Ok, I don't think its logical to think that the P5 is evil and the G5 are choir boys. The same stuff happens at the G5 level, it's just on a lesser scale.

We need to teach Caver the Elmore flop. It looks like Witchita is struggling to not breathe on him.

Go Marshall tho!

We already have the "Porter Flop". If we have another guy doing it people will think they are at a soccer game.

Much more effective to have a guard act like he's shot on every drive. They have the ball more.

Much more believable too.

They really aren’t good on defense. Wichita was playing into Marshall’s hands early by not running anything on offense. They are settling in a bit more now.

Its basically, pray that Penava blocks a shot. Best I can sum up their defense.

Those people on this board who claim Elmore isn't that good are nuts!

He is good. But the system makes him look better because it’s easy to remember the highlights. He shoots 35% from deep. He turns the ball over 3 times per game. He’s a good player, for sure, but he’s not as good as the media is trying to make him.

My criticism has always been his lack of defense. The crazy thing is, he was shooting 31% from 3 about 2-3 weeks ago and has been on absolute fire since then. I also don't think he was conference POY, but that is looking silly right now as he's been on a 2 week heater. He plays a ton of possessions so his overall numbers are a bit inflated.

They just went on a crazy run. Really shocked Witchita State guards are turning it over so much.

One day you will learn that you don't have to be great on the defensive end to be a game changing player...maybe JJ will learn too.

Of course you don't. Trey Freeman was a game changer and didn't play a lick of defesne.
