OT - JAC Card Memory
Ok so this morning I was asked for a specific case number at work for something, and without hesitating I said 104462977. And they were like, "that's not even the right digits." And I thought about it, and was confused myself where that number came from or why I said it. Shortly after, I realized its my JAC Card number. Lodged in my memory.

Anyone else remember theirs after a LONGER period of time than 11 years? Some of you still like used yours years afterwards so i'm not sure that counts. I think Hittie played in the band till he was 30 somehow? I haven't seen or used mine since 2007 because I was robbed of my wallet shortly after and they took the card. So I've never even seen that number since.

Still my favorite University Marketing Campaign revolves around the JAC Card.

Anyone Remember “You can now JAC off Campus” signs all over the place. Classic

Yeah, they really ran with that one. Feel like that was in the 2001-03 range.

I could be wrong, but pretty sure the JAC card number back in the day was your social. How times have changed.

RE: OT - JAC Card Memory
I was there in between a JAC card change. I also remember they changed the look of them a lot from my first year to my last year (keep in mind I was there for a while haha).
I'm pretty sure I have both of them somewhere. As for the number, I remembered it for a long time after I graduated. I guess old age has taken over.

As was your VA driver's license number. You flashed that thing to any and all without hesitation.

I think I’m part of the reason that changed. Identity theft and credit fraud victim here. Perp stole my DL in Norfolk during my junior year and had all the info he needed to open 9 credit accounts and rack up $60,000 in debt in three months’ time. Spent close to a year wrapped up in an FBI-Norfolk investigation and petitioned the Gov, Senate, and GA to get SSN off the DL.

Will never forget that. Still comes to mind when thinking about great advertising fails (or wins?) of all time. 03-lmfao

Wow, you know ahead of time when entering a brothel to not take valuables with you and that includes your driver's license. In all seriousness, that sounds like a nightmare you went through and probably still feeling some lingering repercussions.

No, youre definitely correct. Even scarier, for a time, it was printed on the card!

Not only was the original JAC numbering system your soc, but for years profs used to post exam scores outside their classroom door using a list of everyone in the class' SSN. That would be a goldmine today for nefarious activity, you would have been able to literally walk down any hallway and collect hundreds of SSN.

Professors and TA’s having access to SSN’s not good either.
