Women's NIT bids
Ball State, Miami, and Toledo are in the WNIT, but so far no brackets have been released. The MAC always does well in getting several teams in this tournament because the at large teams are selected strictly by using 6 different mathematical systems, throwing out the high and low, then finding the average score. The WNIT also automatically invites the top finisher in the league standings who did not get into the NCAA. So that was Ball State in the MAC. First round games are Wednesday and Thursday, so the brackets should be released tonight.

RE: Women's NIT bids
Actually, first round games are played March 14 to 16, so I am correcting my previous post.

RE: Women's NIT bids
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the WNIT is 64 teams whereas it is 32 for the men.

Right?

Ball State will host Middle Tennessee State at 7 p.m. Thursday with the winner to play the winner of the IUPUI vs Purdue game. It's good to see that all three MAC teams will host their first round games. I don't remember this ever happening before.

BSU wins 69-60 over MTSU. Rematch with Purdue at BSU on Sunday. BSU won at Purdue 66-60 earlier in the season.

Wow what an opportunity for Ball St. to knock off a B1G opponent twice in a season. Plus it's at home and vs. in-state rival. Hopefully BSU has a great crowd.
