Do we honestly think we should have been in the NIT field? Sure, maybe we deserved it over a couple teams that got in, but there were a bunch of teams in line to get in before us.

I can't say I was surprised we didn't get an NIT invite. If we had beat Syracuse, or not lost 3 of 4 against EMU & Ball State in the regular season in the regular season, or maybe had won the combo of Marshall & Wright State, I think we would have had a better argument, although I'm not at all certain it would have made a difference.

In the end, I've come around on my thinking, and it probably was the best for the team that we just ended the season where we did. No guarantee Fletcher would have been able to play, and the bench had become awfully short in Cleveland--which has been a TK trait off and on.

On to next season.

Against Buffalo, 5 guys got 34 minutes plus, 21 minutes split between 3 more. They scored 3 points in the last 5:32, missing 14 shots.

Maybe they were gassed.
