Kinda reminds me for a second and marvel thinking back that Aaron Stinnie was listed at 6'5" and 250 pounds when he walked on (and redshirted) back in 2013.

-Dan Murphy was listed as a 6'8"/295 Fr in 1999 & and 6’8”/295 as a rFr in 2000, not on 2001 roster.
-Mike Wanderer was listed as a 6'8"/290 Fr in 2000, 6'8"/305 rFr in 2001, not on 2002 roster.

Heaviest true Fr OL:
-2004 there was Fr OL listed at 6'6"/340 who wasn't on the 2005 roster.

Heaviest OL
-Franklin Martin, listed at 6'4"/330 as a Fr in 2004, listed at 6'4"/345 as a rFr in 2005 and a rSo in 2006 (not on roster 2007).
-Corey Davis (4 year starter 2003-2006), listed at 6'4"/325 as a Fr in 2003, 6'4"/340 as a So & Jr, 325 again as a Sr.

Mike Sprouse definitely weighed that much, but wasn't quite that tall. He was taller than me, though, and I'm 6'5" (was 6'5"). Sprouse came in 1994.

I don't think it's illegal, there are guys trying to tackle him low but do you see the size of his legs? And without pads or a helmet? I'd rather try taking down a rhino. Those aren't 175 guys by the way, many are 225-250. They just look puny next to him.

Mine was a comment sharing a first impression on the overall size (height and weight) of the team, regardless of class standing. The Freshman class is certainly impacting my impression, but even with that taken into account, this is one heck of a collection of big fellas!

Yeah, I've noticed for the last few years that our recruiters don't place a huge emphasis on height. I believe our average of the projected starters on the O-line this year will be 6'3". Richmond went a whole decade w/ an average of 6'4"-6'6". I trust our coaches, but our guys are gonna look a little squatty this year.

Freshman Punter Josh Thomas announced on Twitter that he’s left the team due to his vertebrae injury. He’s staying at JMU as a regular student.

In Phil Steele’s CFB magazine, Rashad Robinson and Jimmy Moreland are rated #24 and #46 respectively among draft eligible CB’s nationally.

I love ‘ol Jimmy Moreland, and he is a very good FCS corner. That said, can’t help but think the scouts will focus on his games against FBS competition. UNC and ECU are not highlight reel material by a long shot. But maybe he’ll improve even more this year and harness that raw talent. Shutting down his man in the opener would be a great way to start his senior year.
