Barkley calls the upset...
On the March Madness bracket reveal show. Charles Barkley just picked the twelve seed Aggies over the 5 seed Clemson Tigers. I think I’m with him!

That is a much better match-up than many in previous years.

I can actually see nmsu go to the sweet sixteen. Clemson would be the harder game. Auburn isn't all that great.

I hope the round mound of rebound is right. I even heard a comment like Jemerrio Jones rebounds like Barkley only a lot thinner lol.

Finally a good draw for Pistol Pete. Both in location and opponents. Think this is the breakthrough year for S16.

I disagree. Clemson is a tough matchup for NMSU. Nice trip to San Diego though.

Size is what gives NMSU problems, Clemson lost their best player, 6'8 Forward Donte Grantham who was averaging 14 points, 7 rebounds, while shooting 42% from 3. NMSU actually matches up very good with Clemson. Last season, Baylor had to much size and we didn't have any answer. Let's also remember the last time we played a ACC squad at a neutral site, NMSU beat #6 Miami. This game is winnable.

I'm taking NMSU in that one. Great matchup for NMSU.

Good points. Clemson is a good basketball team, but they are not Duke or Kentucky in terms of talent. They have no players listed in the top 100 of this 2018 NBA Draft. Lofton and Harris are talented players and Jones is a beast on the boards. Clemson is not going to overwhelm NMSU on talent.

In my opinion, this is the best team the Aggies have had in years. They are 4th in the country in rebounding, thanks to Jones. Beating Illinois in Chicago, beating Davidson and Miami in Hawaii was impressive. They swept a good UNM team. They had the USC game won, but somehow lost that in the last few seconds. This should be a close game and hopefully an Aggie win.

In years past, even with decent seeds, we would get Texas (Kevin Durant), Michigan St (Draymon Greene), Indiana (Victor Oladipo), etc. As much as we got our hopes up, deep down we all knew we were outmanned and overmatched. This year is different. We have proven we can play with the best. We have solid players. We have a coach that will have us prepared and has seen it all in his coaching career. I have never been so optimistic in my life.

As an added bonus, if we make any noise in the tourney, it will shine a bright light on the WAC and will send a few more dollars everyone’s way.

Draymond was just a freshman back then if I remember right. Went to Spokane to see MSU, NMSU gave them a hell of a game. That team was led by upperclassmen. Kalin Lucas and Durrell Summers, Derrick Nix. Draymond still was a big factor, met his Mom in the stands and my brother got his autograph. That a fun team. Needed a half court buzzer beater to beat Maryland in round 2. Crazy game. Final Four team
