Word on the street is that UCON wants their program to cusp. They will have Smith, Smith and Smith coaching em up UCON next season.

Ollie won with Calhoun's players. Just like tubby, recruiting really, really suffered and it was obvious that KO wasn't going to get things back to the level they once were.

It will be fascinating to see who UCONN gets since that is a program that was nothing prior to Calhoun. Calhoun built that program from the ground up and we are about to see if UCONN the program is bigger than Calhoun the coach.

This might eliminate some good canidates though ... Hurley for one.

In a way ... He's right. But they have the one key ingredient we almost all have. A FOOTBALL PROGRAM !!! They ain't dropping that. They would have to drop down to the Patriot league ... Some math savy geek can fill you on on the difference in revenue. BigEast basketball minus AAC football equals ... oh ... And Set Greenberg is your ESPN expert.

The AAC needs UConn to step up it's game. Not the other way around. Don't get me wrong here, I would love to be playing basketball in the BIGEAST conference. But they wanted to be snobbish and pushed out football schools to keep their reputation as a premier basketball league. I think the BIGEAST lost more than it gained. The BIGEAST wants UConn back more than UConn needs to go back. Just my opinion anyway.

The ACC is the place they want to be ... Maybe they'll (ACC) swap Louisville fr UConn ...

Dan Hurley will have UConn back to national prominence within a couple of years...assuming he wants the job.
