I don't think I like this format.

Interesting. The first round games can really make for a long day, this will definitely help that aspect of it.

Looks like Old Dirty fans are tiring of Jeff Jones.

Would you want him as the head coach of our Dukes if the admin were to make a move to replace Lou Rowe? He's been a winner at UVa, American and Old Dirty.

RE: C-USA Tournament
Completely understanding I'm casting stones from a glass house, I thought it was funny to see their championship at the Star in Frisco, TX. They put the court in the endzone of one of the halves of the facility and put up a large curtain to hide the other empty half of the facility. There still wasn't many filled seats in the half they did play in and I think they also closed the upper deck and tried to get the cameras to not show it.

I am glad we're only having to play as far as Charleston, instead of even further in TX. Makes absolutely no sense when most of their schools are nowhere near Frisco. Great for UNT fans?

Interesting concept to say the least. Would have probably worked better crowd wise if it could be located somewhere closer to all the teams. Being in TX makes it hard for the east coast team fans to travel. Problem with all tournament sites I would guess though.

Not an empty half-arena in Frisco. They literally had two games at a time; that curtain separated the two games. C-USA has a weird obsession with running their MBB & WBB tourneys in the same city at the same time. This is the first time they’ve done two games simultaneously in the same building though.

Sorry that wasn't clear from the odu game i watched. At least they're being efficient with the facility by killing two birds with one star?

Sorry, now I’m being unclear! ODU game was as you described as are the final & other semi. All earlier rounds are four teams playing at once.

That's embarrassing.

That is quite a building for a football practice facility. Cowboys certainly do not spare any expense.

Pfff. put the FCS title game in there instead. It's bound to be an upgrade.

The low majors put on a considerably better show than that. Inexcusably embarrassing.

RE: C-USA Tournament
I was really interested to see what this looked like on tv. The professional broadcast highlight reel made it look fine (well lit and only showed VERY tight shots of the crowd, you could practically see what they were snacking on). After I watched the highlight reel, youtube auto played the Marshall U official youtube page's highlight reel which was shot from court level and it was HORRIBLE. Terrible lighting and absolutely zero energy/atmosphere.

Bush League is an understatement.

RE: C-USA Tournament
A little off topic, but the CAA would do well if they used Towson's SECU Arena. A touch smaller but built for basketball and located in the heart of the CAA. I really don't care if Towson has home court advantage, it would show the CAA tournament well and be a road trip for all schools.

I believe youth leagues rent out the facility for tournaments.

I have nothing further, your honor.

BP

Have been to SECU a couple of times to watch the Lady Dukes play there. Very nice facility. As noted a bit small at about 5K seating but nice overall.

There were youth soccer tourneys there during the FCS title game weekend.

Has a CAA tourney game had 5k people at it since VCU and ODU left? It'll be big enough.
