Question Game 1 Zags vs Owls
10 pitch 1st AB, but Matt gets the K

2nd K takes only 5 pitches.

And the 3rd K only 3. Gotta like the trend!

RE: Game 1 Zags vs Owls
Ryan walks, Trei Ks, Braden check swing singles to RF, but Ryan thrown out trying to go to 3B. Ford bounces out to 1B.

0-0 going to 2nd.

RE: Game 1 Zags vs Owls
Zags cleanup hitter, Vieth, is a big powerful looking dude. F8 to deep center just to the left of the batters eye.

Matt goes 3-0 on 5th hitter then gets the K swinging.

And a swinging K for the 3rd out. Matt with 5 Ks thru 2.

Chase skies on the short left. LFer and SS nearly have a head on, but SS's glove ends up 30 feet away. Very strange.

Brad lines out to RF.

Dominic goes 5-3.

No score going to 3rd.

RE: Game 1 Zags vs Owls
Soft liner single to center followed by a triple to RF corner puts Zags up 1-0. Neither ball hit hard, just to the right spots. Looked like Brad had trouble picking up the ball bouncing around in the corner and an ill-advised late relay throw home allows the runner to 3B.

Another soft liner single to RF makes it 2-0. Meeting of the minds on the mound.

Same old crap. Starting pitcher we had begun to believe in throws batting practice, half-ass offense phones it in.

That's a little harsh. None of the balls were hit that hard.

RE: Game 1 Zags vs Owls
Now that double to RF was stroked. 3-0 Zags.

With 2 outs, Vieth gets an INT PASS and then next hittter scoots one by Trei. 4-0 Zags.

This inning is going from bad to worse. HBP loads them up.

But Matt gets K to end it. That was "hit 'em where they ain't" at its finest for the Zags. Owls should try that.

RE: Game 1 Zags vs Owls
Justin ropes a single to CF to start the B3.

SS makes a nice backhand flip on a rocket off the P's golf to get the force at 2nd. Hit 'em where they ain't Owls!

Ryan walks for the 2nd time. 2 on, 1 out. And Trei Ks for the 2nd time. Grrr!

Another ball knocked down by the pitcher ends the inning 1-3.

Can't really get mad at Canterino over one inning. Happens to the best of them.

However, our lack of clutch hitting is really befuddling and consistently aggravating.

Pop to short CF for out 2.

Pop to shorter CF caught by Ford for out 3.

RE: Game 1 Zags vs Owls
Come on bats!

Ford singles to CF. Chase pops to short CF. 1on, 1 out. Walk to Brad puts 2 on. Mound visit. Bottom 3rd of Owl order needs to get something here.

Great bunt from Dominic. Bad throw to 1st. Run scores and runners go to 2nd and 3rd.

Wild swing by Justin at a pitch in his eyes on 3-2 count. 2 outs. Double Grrrrr!

4 pitch walk to Cody loads them up. Should be 4-2 with one out now.

Lazy fly to LF ends the innning. Should have been more.
