I'm afraid Prairiedawg is correct. After watching the first half of your game with Buffalo, your team is not called for walking, charging, and maybe a few others. The referees are sitting on your bench.

You’re an idiot. You’re probably the guy that got kicked out of your kid’s 4th grade rec game for harassing the refs. You clearly know nothing about how a game is officiated.

Dear Rocket_Fanatic,
Someone needs to calm down. People have the right to their opinions, especially when it comes to referees.

Yes they do. And so often the losers opinion is that the refs are the reason they got beat. Refs didn’t beat you, Toledo and a freshman who averages 7 points a game beat you.

Everyone has a perspective on that play, but to me it looks like Knapke pulled Thompson to the floor. He didn't just fall down, because Thompson was trying to get to the ball. I think that's obvious.

I agree. But Thompson locked arms earlier in the play...which made knapke capable of doing so. A double flagrant wasn't correct...a double personal? Sure. It was only bad for EMU because it was his fifth. Both teams had the same call...and the EMU bucket counted.

IMO JT4 has a bad attitude and because of that, eyes are on him by every ref in the league. A reputation of playing "dirty, talk backish, agressive", leads to more T's as where first time offenders get breaks.

This is what I thought, too. It was a double foul, but not a double flagrant. The refs aren't allowed to call a regular foul based on their monitor review. They saw a regular foul by Thompson, which they wanted to call, so they called it a flagrant. It was either that or nothing. Refs go to the monitor too much.

Still, too much is being made about this call. The fact is that EMU is so poorly coached that it doesn't matter who they have on the court, they'll still find a way to lose. Murphy played right into Toledo's hands by slowing the game down to a crawl.

RE: totally neutral here
Most fans can’t deal with the fact that 90% of the the time, their players lost the game because they just didn’t execute well enough and/or just aren’t good enough in general. So they blame the refs or their coach.

And that’s fine because these are young folks who generally bust their asses and don’t need the whining and griping of a bunch of grouchy old men who never played a minute of college ball. But it’s usually the players who fail, because that’s what happens in athletics—you miss shots, you’re out of position, you miss tackles, you fumble the ball, you drop the pass, you strike out, you miss a 3-foot putt, the other guy is just a bit quicker or stronger or smarter.

But fans do what fans do: there’s a conspiracy against us, our coach brought in the players and is supposed to teach them to be better so it’s all on him, etc. Got to have a scapegoat—it can’t be that their school’s players are better than ours. That’s unacceptable.

Dear Dwight,
What do you know about college basketball coaching? I could say the same thing about your coach when Eastern beat your team twice this year, even when you had the player of the year. That's the arrogance that comes from people like you, that because you won a game that makes whatever happened right, correct, etc. Go jump in the lake.

Dear H2Oville,
I never said the referees were the reason Toledo beat Eastern. You have trouble with reading or comprehension. My statement about referees was in reference to your game with Buffalo.

Nowhere did I say you did, Ken. Reading and comprehension, Ken, reading and comprehension.

Dear H2Oville Rocket,
That is what you implied with your above comment about losers blaming the referees. Then adding your smart aleck comment about a freshman beating us. You belong in the lake with Dwight.

Dear Kenneth,
- Well allow me to retort !!

- Jumping in the lake may have been a viable option for Dwight and H20, but since they’ve dried off I imagine it will beat being taken behind the woodshed. Which in fact may be a distinct possibility for you & your EMU bretheren when Rocket football comes to town next fall ruining your homecoming (as always). Best regards, and good luck in your CIT gig...
