If ND breaks down and joins the ACC
If Notre Dame finally joins the ACC in all sports, who do they bring with them as the 16th team?

Domer: I'm inclined to agree on both counts.

Connecticut. UConn+Cuse >>> Rutgers in NY. Lock NY down as ACC territory.

1) UConn
2) ACC gives Louisville to the Big 12 to help them get mathematically correct.

Not going to happen unless the entire southern tier of the conference leaves.

Quote:2) ACC gives Louisville to the Big 12 to help them get mathematically correct.

See above

There isn't any worse hypothetical in conference realignment than, "If ND joins a conference, then..." It's a completely pointless exercise.

Assuming it's not WVU, who does the AAC add?

And yet, they're already 5/8 of the way there.

They already have the bowl access and Olympic sports home that they need from the ACC. The CFP committee has already shown they're not shy about putting a one-loss team that didn't win their division in the playoff over a conference champ. I don't really see a compelling reason for them to change what they're doing right now.

Who's "they"?

Would the American add WVU to restore their position?

You joke, but that's probably ESPN's preferred outcome in a couple years. My guess is they try to use the ACC and SEC to take the head off the Big 12 with Texas getting the Notre Dame package while Oklahoma and one of Kansas or WV heads to the SEC. Not saying it'll ultimately play out that way, but ESPN probably tries to make it happen.

Bogg: your SEC adds sound great to me, though Kansas isn't "southern".
