I assume that his frustration was due to the AAC's P6 campaign and how it was creating a real perception image with the public and media. It seems like he should spend less time venting about the AAC publicly and more time trying to get NIU into the AAC privately. His priorities seem very flawed, but whatever.

Compher on the other hand just flat out sucks. That guy is terrible. ECU is firing him so NIU can have him back as soon as tomorrow.

Alright!! Here is our opportunity!! Let's bring Jiff back! With him will come Shelly Binegar back. His first move will be to fire Monty and bring back Ricardo Patton. And, Shelly will get on the phone and start screaming at the donors. Ah, the good times!!

03-lmfao ah yes. Good old Shelley Vinegar. Screaming at donors & season ticket holders...either on the phone or in nasty emails. What a gal!

I don't like Jiff or STF. I'd take Jeff Phillips tho.

Wow!!
No kidding...Look at that sequence of events below. ECU makes NIU's decisions look good. They took him after what he accomplished at NIU!!!

Compher, 59, was hired in April 2013, replacing Terry Holand.

During Compher’s time as athletic director, he hired Cliff Godwin as ECU’s baseball coach, who led the team to an NCAA Super Regional.

Compher also signed a 10-year deal with Adidas to be the PIrates’ official provider of footwear apparel and accessories.

But in 2015, Compher fired then football coach Ruffin McNeill.

Since then, the Pirates have won just six football games in two years, and the 2016-2017 season was among the worst athletic years in ECU history.

Following the historically bad year, Compher was given a five-year extension in late June, angering some fans.

The contract was supposed to run through April 2023.

Now, just nine months after that contract extension was signed, he will be bought out of his contract.

What else can you say, Compher was a dork, is a dork, and always will be a dork. Was a clown that was lucky enough (with a horseshoe up his ass) to always be in the right place at the right time.
