I may be wrong but I thought they played more of a 3/4 trap than a full court press which really hurt us because of our short guards. They pretty much copied what Xavier did to us late in the game.

I think you're both sort of right. To me it was (nearly) full court (7/8(?) lol), but mostly soft, and not particularly what most would call "trapping" - altho those situations did arise. I think we all know that it's mostly designed not for turnovers (a bonus), but more to limit an opponent to about 8 less seconds on the shot clock.
But that's nit-picking, in terms of degree; the point is very much valid. We need to figure out a way to counteract that, and I suspect Steve Forbes has spent countless hours doing just that.

Hopefully, as swvabucsfan writes, we'll this year have the "weapons" to overcome that. *Surely*……...with all our possible guard combinations, a solution will be found.

Bucs never attacked that press last year. Their approach was to tolerate it and that proved costly in my opinion.

From Samford:
Wyatt Walker has landed in Raleigh (Wolfpack)
Justin Coleman to Tucson (Ariz.)
Christen Cunningham to the 'ville
Triston Chambers to UA-Huntsville

From UTC:
Rodney Chatman to the Flyers (Dayton)
Nat Dixon to the ponies of SMU
Makale Foreman to NY-Stony Brook (some of the cognoscenti among you may remember that the Seawolves are only two years past an NCAA berth)
James Lewis to Appy

(Just a partial round-up. Not likely anywhere near a complete accounting. Kinda striking is the quality of the teams where several of these guys landed.)

Good(?) to see an update on these (Samford) transfers (see pertinent section entitled "Samford's Losses"):

update on Samford transfers

Walker is averaging 6.6/4.4, and shooting 67%.
Cunningham is averaging 9.6, and shooting 42% from 3.
Coleman is averaging 10; 3 assists, and is also shooting 42%. Very high reviews for him in Tucson.
Best I can tell, altho Chambers is on the roster in Huntsville, he's not playing. (Maybe not eligible?)
Not at all surprised D3 is playing pro ball.
Not gonna take the time to check on the outgoing UTC players.

RE: 2018-19 SOCON off-season superthread
I didn't know where to put this so I placed it here. Last year from time to time I would search to see if Andre Edwards, who left school because of academics, had landed somewhere else. I never did see anything and I eventually forgot about it. Earlier my brother and I were talking about last season and the conjunction of injuries, sickness and fatigue that made the Bucs' end of the season a disappointment. We included in that the injury to Rodriguez and the departure of Edwards. I thought that Edwards was an amazing athlete with a rare gift for playing defense that just didn't appear to have the discipline to play at this level. Any way that got me wondering again. Edwards is playing for NAIA Texas Wesleyan. He hasn't played many minutes and his stats aren't great, but at least he is back in school. I genuinely hope he gets his degree.

Samford knocks off Furman with a 3pter with 5 seconds to go. 75-73. Lyons choked, missed front of one and one and turned it over at end to let Samford take the winning shot.

Not that this is the best thread for this, but since Rod already posted similarly......

UNC-G blocked *9* Mercer shots, got *14* steals (24 total TOs for Mercer), yet still led virtually all the way to win by 6, partly because the Bears won the board battle by 8. Apparently Miller threw down some serious dunkage along the way.

Woofers only up 1 on Chatt-town at the half, as they're only 4/13 from deep, to 7/13 for Mocs.

[edit: as expected, Woofers pulling away. Now up 11.]
