Dicks got really poor lawyers. How did they not see that one coming?

The lawsuit would be thrown out of court. A business have a right not to sell something to people, but under many states, stores and all that can't sell beer(booze or cigarettes to anybody under the age of 21.

It's not legal to buy and consume alcohol in any state until you're 21. Show me a state where they won't sell you beer until you're 24.

For the record: I think Dicks and Walmart *SHOULD* have the right to refuse selling items to 18-21 year old kids... But darn those liberals they have tried to make it illegal to not sell a product to a person based on age, race, sex, sexuality, age, ....

Filed in Oregon, where it is likely such a suit loses. I bet that was chosen by the NRA because they knew it would lose and this will eventually be a Supreme Court case.

Thats ok because the state law says you cant sell beer to someone under 21. But the state law says you cant discriminate selling a legal good or service on the basis of age, race, religion, or gender. If the law said selling guns to someone under 21 was illegal, then Dicks would be fine. But selling guns to someone over 18 is legal in Oregon---so Dicks has a problem.

The plantiff chooses the court. I have a hard time believing they filed the case in a liberal courtroom. If there is just one conservative judge in the entire state, I guarantee thats the courtroom where that case got filed.

Although I support their decision to raise the age (it's their business) I can't believe the lawyers didn't see it coming.
