Football "money games"
Does anyone have information about how much EMU gets paid to play the bigger programs in football? I heard former president Sue Martin say that Ohio State paid EMU $900K for a game in Columbus. I could use real numbers and sources, if you have them. I am engaged in a discussion on another board that has the usual EMU bashing and says they must drop to D2 because of competitive and financial issues. Any help you can give would be appreciated as I am the lone EMU spokesman there, and, of course, I am not official, just a fan and the husband of an alum.

Fbschedules.com should have info. Go to EMU's page and look through the past articles. The anmouncements of games usually have info on payments.

Regarding the 2017 Kentucky game: "According to the contract, Eastern Michigan will receive a $1.2 million guarantee for the 2017 game."

I think the next two with KY are an even swap.

I can confirm your UKy info and add to it:

Wisconsin 2021 $1.3 million
Kentucky 2017 $1.2 million (3 game contract)
Missouri 2016 and 2020 $2.5 million

Dextereagle, be careful. You are arguing with a bunch of people that think the Mac should be the equivalent of a P5 conference. They think their schools are high and mighty because they get 15 to 20k in their stadium on a Saturday. NIU and WMU are always at the forefront of this discussion. In reality, we are all in the same boat.

Just let them live their fantasy then shove it down their throat when our teams beat theirs.

I am trying to have an informed, productive discussion with the moderator of the Region 3 GLIAC discussion board on D2MessageBoard.com. EMU bashing has spread to D2 conference discussions.

Also, I thank you for your concern.

I've been to fb and BB games at GV. Nice environment. But the average MAC school would crush them in either sport.

I think someone made this point a while ago but 85 football scholarships is an expense but its all 85 students enrolled revenue wise the biggest issue people can use against us is attendance football is slowly improving means basketball has a long way to go student attendance needs to improve

People on these forums are too thin skinned.

Who cares what other posters on other boards think.

Some are good posters. Others are wrong or trolls.

Obviously, I was being facetious and have no bone to pick with EMU.

I mean, I think Western should be shut down for wanting to associate with Cooley Law School, so I guess we're even.
