Wow. He achieved far more than anyone would have thought. Great story for a very good guy.

There is a lesson to be learned from it.

My mom used to say "for every Jack there is a Jill." Royalty marries royalty. Hollywood marries Hollywood. Rich marry rich. Those who aren't rich or 'Hollywood' still find their partner.

Same with athletes. Athletes need to find the level and school which they they are a good fit. Not everyone is a 4 or 5 star athlete. Most high school students aren't Harvard material.

Find a school where the student-athlete is a good fit in terms of academics, athletics, and social considerations (how many h.s. students from NYC would be happy at say Montana State?)

And we see this with players like Riley and Bryant transferring from high major programs. We get players who transferred from D-I schools to JUCO to be re-recruited and came to EMU or who have transferred directly from other D-I schools.
