WAC Digital...
Is it me, or is the WAC Digital getting worse by the month?

Seems like almost every event I tune into has "streaming issues." Not all/only CSUB events either.

RE: WAC Digital...
Or, is it just poor service in Bakersfield?

RE: WAC Digital...
Same with the utrgv streams. When the streams are on youtube I can watch in HD with no problems. On the wacdn it feels like i'm on dial up.

RE: WAC Digital...
For every NMSU game there seems to be a pause in service or a complete crash to which they have to switch to the blue tech.

RE: WAC Digital...
It is actually not easy to deliver an enormous amount of streaming traffic reliably. ISP auto throttling is still a big problem in the United States, particularly on DSL and over-provisioned cable providers. It gets into the technical jargon quickly when you start talking about edge providers and CDNs, but suffice to say only a small handful of people are *really* capable of delivering high quality streaming to an enormous audience online without much problem. And the dirty secret is most of those aren't really providing a different choice. When you watch ESPN through YouTube TV ... you're getting piped directly into the WatchESPN official stream without you knowing what is going on. That kinda stuff happens everywhere. From my experience with YouTubeTV, Sling, and Charter ... all three are actually dumping out to third party providers for *MOST* of the streaming content they provide you. It's not a business you want to start out from scratch in if you can help it.

RE: WAC Digital...
Currently we have WACDN 2.0. The original WACDN had a Apple, Android and Roku Apps. Also could watch on the WAC Website. Could always view them and had little trouble IMO. The previous Executive Producer was easy to contact and he would work on or fix what needed to be. After he left, the New EP let it fall apart. Didn't renew what he needed to to keep the original WACDN alive. Now they use the provided video services of Sidearm Sports on the WAC website and call it a Digital Network. The current EP was not going to have the OTT platforms they have now, until it was suggested by the company he was visiting to look at some video software. The OTT platforms were never an original thought by the current EP and those in the WAC offices.

The half ass WACDN is what it is when you half ass it, crap. Just look around at other conference DN's and see the difference.

Also if you are wondering why there is so many GCU games on the WAC DN, it is because GCU has their own separate deal with the OTT company that the WAC is with.
