Still 1-0 after 2.
Acker really doesn’t look that comfortable, but pitched himself out of a jam in B2. Thanks to a DP by the Owls.

Owls load the bases with 2 outs in T3. But Sarchet swings at first pitch and produces an easy ground out.
Stil 1/0, Cardinal. B3

Owls load the bases in T4 on 2 singles and a walk. No outs.
Stanford pitching change.

Stanford pitching change.

And don’t score even one run. Unbelievable.

We have stranded the bases loaded twice.

On a more positive note, the (free) Stanford online broadcast quality is outstanding.

Bases loaded, no outs...no runs. It's so frustrating.

This is what I've been screaming....why can't we have a stream (free) with the behind the pitcher view? Is it really that hard to do? Surely we have a kid who can rig up a camera in the tower in CF.

B4. 1-0 Stanford.

Your tongue in cheek comment however illustrates that the baseball Owls are laying at the level often of the football Owls.

To be fair, we lost yesterday only 6-4. Not 60-4 which would be more like our last football outing went.

We really need DiCaprio and Dunlap's power back in the lineup. We aren't hitting extra base hits. We have 8 total all year (4 HRs, 2 3Bs, 2 2Bs). Our opponents have twice as many (10 2Bs, 1 3B, 5 HRs).

We need a spark in the worst way to win this game.

The pitching continues to impress. We'll be fine once we get healthy.

Getting swept in a 4-game series is ostensibly the baseball equivalent of losing a football game 60-4.

Scores don't matter quite as much in baseball (which you know, of course). It's more like tennis, where you either win a set or you don't. If you lose in straight sets in a best-of-five GS event, well, you've basically gotten pistol-whipped.

I disagree. Baseball is a long season and you have ups and downs. The Astros lost a 4 game series at Oakland in early September last year in which they gave up 41 runs in the 4 games. Within 2 months, they were world's champs.

It is not the score. It is the frequent Little League play.
