Women's Soccer Going to Spain
The Women's Soccer team is heading to Spain next month over spring break. This is keeping in line with Karlgaard's goal of having teams go abroad at least once every four years. The trip will feature cultural enrichment and exhibition matches against local teams.

Awesome. And well deserved. This is a good opportunity for university outreach and the Women's Soccer team is one of the best-foot-forward programs we have.

I wonder how they will get there. If they haven't booked the flight yet, I recommend HOU-DFW-MAD, as the long stage is on a 787-9, which makes for a generally pleasant flight.

The list of airports didn't give it away? 05-stirthepot

FT is a good spot. It's the only place where I can plan a trip from Houston to SFO via hong kong and not be the odd one out.

Also I applaud JK and his staff for making this happen. This is one of our high performing teams and great to see them rewarded. For anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to travel, this is fantastic.

A week or two ago, I ended up sitting at lunch with several players from the team, and needless to say, they were quite excited about the trip.

There are no better ambassadors for Rice athletics, and perhaps for Rice generally, than Rice athletes.

My son is attending two weeks of Rice Soccer Camp this summer. He's excited to work with some of the players.
