Is Reckling Park "venerable?"
Rice News:

Quote:When the Rice Owls baseball team plays its 2018 season home opener Feb. 20 against Texas State, fans will notice some upgrades to venerable Reckling Park.

Maybe "venerable," but how about "beautiful?" Or, "the home of the Owls, Reckling Park."

It isn't old.

Depending on how passionate one is about baseball, I guess one might consider it sacred.

Or "venerable" is the wrong word.

We like to throw around absurd adjectives for fun. Somehow Rice Stadium became HRS and now Reckling is deemed Venerable.

Dunno. I consider Reckling a nice place to watch a baseball game. It doesn't need more fluff than that

And RS is mostly H for a non-football related event.

WTF.

Get back to me when it's Winning Tudor Fieldhouse. It's almost halfway there.

If it's Winning Tudor Fieldhouse across the board, that may deserve a WTF moment. Because it's probably never consistently happened.

Definitely never happened. It has only had a decade as TF during which times we had some outperforming stalwarts of the basketball trade such as Ben Braun and Greg Williams.

If we also count Autry.. then I'm not sure. For a true WTF we would need MBB, WBB and Volleyball right?

Speaking of WTF - a few of my friends who were track runners managed to get the athletics department to print team shirts that said

Rice
WTF
Women's Track And Field

We all found it amusing.

It’s interesting the story didn’t include a quote from the legendary Head Coach that made the program. That seems telling.

Are you calling into question how venerable the HC is? 05-stirthepot
