I disagree with the poster who said Jones and Jacobs are not athletic. They are athletic- Jones is the Dukes second best shot blocker after Phillips. He has a nose for the ball and is scrappy but he also keeps rebounds alive because he is a good leaper and has good strength. To me that's being a good athlete. Jacobs runs the court well. Now Snowden is a guy who doesn't play an athletic game. His game reminds me of UREC pickup ball- he plays below the rim and needs to ditch that scoop shot. He isn't a guy who will block a shot either.

Bingo....I had been saying since December that Joey should not be starting and was a good change of pace guy @15 min per game max barring foul trouble. I just don't get Snowden, he just seems to play with no real purpose nor intensity. I think Jacobs was slowed by an injury early in the season but is rounding into form much better now. The hustle, energy, and effort is much more apparent with Jones or Jacobs and I see no downside to playing either over Snowden.

You and I have both been on the same bandwagon all year about Joey. I am ready for Snowden’s minutes to diminish as well. A Senior who turns it over, fouls and misses free throws late in games doesn’t need to be on the floor. A Freshman can do that and gain valuable experience in doing so.

Yup. I like Joey and think he is a great guy too...but college sports is about winning and Joey helps this team win by coming off the bench.

I am hearing that Snowden isn’t putting the work in these days. He has a case of Senioritis. If this is true, he is going to find his minutes diminish. No reason to play a Senior when he doesn’t care enough to give his best effort. Keep playing the Freshman. The experience will payoff in the future. I am seeing a lot more effort from the young guys anyway.

Not sure that's the case- Coach Rowe just praised him at the presser for buying in and helping the young guys. I just think with Snowden what you see is kind of what you get- When he was recruited as a transfer I hoped that he would be a difference make and while he's a contributor he's not much more than a role player. He's a tweener and plays below the rim- sometimes he makes a smart basketball play, sometimes he is a little lackadaisical. I think he can still help as a rotation guy/starter through the end of the season. He's one of JMU's better assist guys can get some steals in the paint and is good for 1 3 pointer a game. Needs to do better at the foul line though.
