my answer is temple but depending on the match up....everyone thinks temple is hot and cold...i think temple isnt that hot and cold but have huge weaknesses certain teams can exploit...i don't think temple matches up with houston especially at the physicality in the paint..but can handle a scoring duel with wsu
its not that temple is good 1 day and bad the other ...i think they can handle certain things well but handle other thing horribly
temple can win if they avoid certain teams
Temple is indeed hot and cold aka inconsistent.
They basically beat Cincinnati at home then lost to them by 33 on the road.
They lose to Houston on the road by 3 then get blown out by 21 at home.
They played extremely different the two times they faced us with a mediocre performance in the game we lost in NJ, and a sterling performance in the game we won in Wichita.
You literally have NO idea what kind of Temple team is going to show up on any given night at home or on the road. It's purely random.
Houston was inconsistent at one point too but they woke up after Wichita and gained focus. Temple needs to wake up now because they can play very well if they want to.

I would assume the 4-5 winner has the best shot at winning the conference title. They have an easier road to the semifinals than the 6-7 seeds
In other words, the 6-7 seeds likely have to beat all three favorites. The 4-5 winner only has to beat two of them.

watch the temple game they lost by 3...
it wasn't close.. they were down 15, they our starting center got injured badly and they snuck back because we missed a ton of free throws..that game wasn't that close (that center had 22 points in 1 half before injury).. in both games they couldn't handle our bigs (when they were in).. some games i put on hot and cold...but i don't see temple beating houston this season from the disparity in bigs..it was a +30 margin in rebounding yesterday
temple doesn't match up well with houston....people like to argue who is better, when it should how do they match up
they shot badly in both in both cincy games ..turnovers was the difference, temple got down early from turnovers and cincy isn't the team to climb a deficit..
also houston isn't inconsistent, we are consistently getting better .. we added 8 players and our best player was ineligible for the first game...it took time to get it all to work..

Not necessarily, that's not how March Madness works. Especially in a year like this with no dominant teams.

Ideal situation for bids. UcF might even be in position for an at large depending on who they face on the way. 20+ wins and a couple victories against tier one teams would make them a strong bubble at least.

I am talking about the conference tournament. Whether a surprise team will earn a 4th bid.

I was too. Houston was upset the last two years with a top 3 seed. I certainly get your point though.
That said, I don't think chalk has ever come close to holding serve in the American Tournament. This year doesn't strike me as being any different.

Nah, just a little jab back at AAC'ers who joke that Wichita is in Iowa or one of the other flyover states.
