IF he could get a new 5-year deal somewhere, then the clock restarts on his income stream. If he could get 5 years at $1M, then that makes the gap "only" $4M. We might settle that difference, over 4 years at $1M per year. That could in theory leave us $2M per year for the next guy.
And he would probably achieve a higher quality of life than what he has to currently be experiencing.
It is great that it stretches out so long because he might take a year or two off and if he is hired somewhere and does reasonably well, he will get raises.
