You mean fired coaches don't want to settle for $3 million out of the goodness of their heart when they could get $9 million? The next thing you are going to tell me is that Penny won't work for minimum wage either!

Coaches negotiate settlements all the time. People here were saying the same exact thing during Pastner's last year. He negotiated. Yes, there was a 3rd party, but it was still a negotiated settlement.

Reasons are quality of life, legacy, other career opportunities, medical, retirement, even the amortization schedule. There is value in these areas that is not defined by the contract.

And I'm not so sure that there is explicit language giving total control of staff to Tubby. If the squeeze is put there, that would be another reason to negotiate.
