Always the refs, coaching decisions, mistakes by their own team, MT getting away with fouls................ we've heard it all.

MT ain't too good. Just been very lucky in our 39 wins out of 41 CUSA games.

Thank the Lord above for all of those bad coaching decisions and bad play by the other teams, or we might be in the cellar.

You mean kind of like the stuff we heard when you lost here?

Western shot 63.8% on fg, 45.5% on 3s, 77% on fts hitting 37 of the 48 and the game went into OT

But I thought we shot more free throws because we cheat at home and pay the refs? No? That’s what I’ve heard after every home game when we shoot more free throws than the team we beat. Multiple teams have cried it this year.

But I never hear them complain about our guys just watching their team shoot layup after layup as they build a lead against us.

They just don’t get that our guys will give you a layup over choosing to foul you. Early in the year we played a more agressive defense. But we’ve settled into what we are now. We are not going to foul you but we are going to throw down low to JJ and Coleby and our guards are going to drive right at the basket. Almost every trip. We get out of it sometimes and settle for the easy 3 but right now it is our identity.

Sometimes the refs won’t call it like that but that crew last night did. Some of these facile fans think every game should end up with both teams shooting the same number of free throws. It’s ridiculous thinking. It shows that they either aren’t watching what’s actually going on in the game or they’re just dumb homers.

Pomeroy’s numbers back it up. We’re getting to the line at a huge rate compared to the rest of the conference. On the defensive side guess who is putting their opponents on the line the least amount. That would be us.

After every win you hear the same thing over and over how unfair it is. Lmmfao. Unfair. Someone grew up with participation trophies.

People who look at boxscores but don't watch the games will point to the FT's attempted differential and cry about it. Some people don't understand this concept that some teams tend to foul more than others based on the kind of (crappy) defense they play. I'm with you there. I will add, if I'm ever complaining about that stat, it's not a complaint about the ref but a complaint that we are getting outplayed.

I think the spread is a little high with the WKU @ Rice today. WKU -12. Rice has played everybody tough this past few weeks other than MT

Well we even beat the 19.5 spread at MT by 1/2 point. We did have the lead against them 2/3 thru the first half. In general, thanks for noticing that yes we have been keeping things pretty competitive for a 2-11 team. Western will probably have to sweat this out for at least 35 minutes but (despite some big talk earlier in this thread) I’m just not sure we can close a game out against anyone not named FIU.

Tech vs. MTSU link. Interesting. They muted the invocation given by Joniah White, the Tech player who had to give up basketball due to his heart condition.

Not sure interesting is the right word. La Tech is being more physical than MT and getting called less. Our guys down in the paint are getting absolutely mauled. Most physical any team in conference has been with us this year. Not that you could tell by the FT disparity.

Agreed some terrible calls and lots of traveling not called either.

Looks like we have pretty nice crowd to see a team that isn't very good this season. We really miss having a healthy Bracy out there. When healthy is the always the fastest guy on the court.

I hate the officiating on Saturday night. We get the scrubs. It's been bad both ways. I know I'm biased but damn.

You'll are getting plenty of calls your way too - the shove off on Bracy comes to mind 07-coffee3

Yea what is bugging me the most I think is that they call tick tack fouls for a few minutes then don't call ANYTHING and let the guys totally knock each other all over the court. Then they switch it up again. At least be consistent in your calls. Though one could argue that they are consistently bad :)

MT is travelling quite a bit and has only been called for it once.

Officiating is just bad. Its BS that we cant get someone consistent.
