RE: 2018 Football Schedule
pesik, nice early analysis. Follow up on Temple's schedule. Games are divided into favorites (Temple favored by 4+); even (Temple +4 to -4) and dogs (Temple a dog by 4+):
Sat, Sept 1 Villanova FAVORITE
Sat, Sept 8 Buffalo FAVORITE
Sat, Sept 15 @ Maryland EVEN
Thu, Sept 20 Tulsa FAVORITE
Sat, Sept 29 @ Boston College EVEN
Sat, Oct 6 East Carolina FAVORITE
Sat, Oct 13 @ Navy EVEN
Sat, Oct 20 Cincinnati FAVORITE
Now comes Death Row:
Thu, Nov 1 @ UCF DOG
Sat, Nov 10 @ Houston DOG
Sat, Nov 17 USF
DOG
Sat, Nov 24 @ UConn FAVORITE
We win all 6 as Favorites; take 1 or 2 out of the 3 Evens, and take 1 out of the Dogs, we could be 7, 8, or 9 game winners. Our three game stretch in 3 weeks against UCF, UH and USF will be brutal.

10-3 with the AAC might be good enough for the G5 access bowl.

Thu., Aug. 30 -- at UConn* WIN
Sat., Sept. 8 -- South Carolina State WIN
Sat., Sept. 15 -- at North Carolina LOSS
Fri., Sept. 21 -- Florida Atlantic WIN
Sat., Sept. 29 – Pittsburgh (Family Weekend) WIN
Sat., Oct. 6 -- SMU* WIN
Sat., Oct. 13 -- at Memphis* LOSS
Sat., Oct. 20 -- at ECU* WIN
Thu., Nov. 1 -- Temple* [ESPN] WIN
Sat., Nov. 10 -- Navy* (Homecoming) WIN
Sat., Nov. 17 -- Cincinnati* WIN
Fri., Nov. 23 at USF* (War On I-4) LOSS

you projections make no sense to me
unc was 3-9 last year with 2 of those wins being odu and wcu (fcs)

i dont see how you are calling ny6 but think you are capable of losing to unc..
fau will be 5x more difficult than unc..

Looks like 1976 picked our 3 toughest road games as losses, which makes sense to me. But I agree that getting a NY6 bowl with a 10-3 record would be tough. OOC wins over FAU and Pitt wouldn't impress anyone enough to jump over a G4 champ with a better record.

Devil's advocate...

Isn't it equally as bad that these recruits didn't know it was UCF that went 13-0?

No

I don't know, man.

I think it stinks on both ends.

Yes, it is funny that Charlie Strong has to tell recruits when they ask, that USF wasn't the team that went undefeated.

But these recruits (I have no idea what % of them are that clueless) also don't know that it was UCF, if they have to ask Strong that question.

But you'd better believe if Florida, FSU, or Miami went 13-0, they'd alllllllllll know about it and would be lining up.

The world we live in.

They remember that somebody went undefeated. USF doesn't need this.

First impressions are important. I’d imagine being able to answer yes to the question leads to a far more positive dialogue the rest of the conversation. Also picturing the frustration and anger on strong’s face when he’s forced to answer no is hilarious.

houston can compete week 1, our qb has games under his belt, most of our defense returns beyond safeties..but our #1 safety returns and we have the #1 safety recruit of 2016 transfer to houston from ole miss (who is favored to get a waiver) and did i mention ed oliver

my point is that playing usf and memphis early would have been a huge benefit for houston...but the fact that its late means that memphis qb will have 11 games under his belt before he plays houston, he wont be someone we can just exploit because of his experience and similar situation to usf...

I think you'll beat USF. I think they're gonna take a step back from the tidbits I know.
