MyBB Your fan base to attend 2018 Men's Basketball Tournament?
Let's go Wichita. I know you all would travel.

But what about other fan bases?

Should we expect a big following from Cincy, Houston and else?

I work about 10 minutes from the place; I am thinking of getting an all-tournament pass for all of the games. About 220 dollars I think.

LOL.

UH will have the band and maybe 50 fans. Hell, we have a hard time getting 3,000 for a game 1 mile from the dorms.

I doubt UC has more than a handful attend. Having the site not centrally located is a killer. 13-14 hour drive isn’t happening when the option to turn around to travel for the NCAA is there 4 days later.

We will have +/- a couple hundred. I'm betting the under.

I still don't know why they didn't just keep it at Memphis (like the first year) as a standing central location for the tournament in this goofy conference footprint rather than moving it around mostly between the corners in Hartford, Orlando, and Dallas.

$295 roundtrip on Delta Thursday-Sunday.

Memphis is still 7 hours from Cincinnati.

It's 25 degrees in Cincinnati right now. It's 73 in Orlando. That's why the tournament should ALWAYS be in Orlando or Tampa. Cheap flights, nice weather, what's not to like?

Exactly, Ncaa game in Nashville or Pittsburgh or travel to Orlando for Conference. Not crazy about Disney land either.

This will be an interesting test for shocker fans. We travel well, but St. Louis was close enough to drive for most. How many will fly and how many will save up for first weekend tourney game? On the other hand, the novelty of a new locale may be a draw for some. I’d guess somewhere around 1,500 Shocker fans.

1500 Wichita fans, 1500 Cincy fans, a few hundred apiece for the rest of the schools. I hope more UCF fans and locals show up.

That's my prediction based on the past.

There are round trip tickets on all of the major carriers from Hitachi to Orlando for $235. The weather in Hitachi is currently 15 degrees. The current weather in Orlando is 75 degrees. Why are you making life so difficult?

I do agree that the games should be played at UCF's home court rather than the Magic arena.

Should be a decent contingent of UC fans there. There was a good group a couple years ago. UConn had the most but I'm not sure how many will make the trip this year with how dreadful they are. The UConn-Cincy game 2 years ago was the only one that had any atmosphere to it at all last time.

UCF fans need to do better. The place was a morgue even for their own game last time.

That’s an easy day drive. Orlando is like 900 miles away so it’s a flight. Students making a road trip are not normally looking to book flights on a credit card on short notice. People planning to go to the NCAA 1st round are not either.

Conference should have picked Memphis due to being centrally located. In CUSA days UC, Charlotte, Louisville, St Louis etc used to show up en masse when it was held at the Pyramid. As it is I bet UC doesn’t have more than a couple hundred there who are not part of the university entourage.

Now the tournament will rely on UCF fans who are hoping for at least a NIT bid to show up in droves. After they lose in round one that place will be a ghost town.

There maybe a few Tiger fans who are in Orlando anyway who may attend a game.

Ill probably go down. Orlando is a 6 hour drive from me and I have a decent shot at scoring decent surf around Satellite Beach or New Smyrna in March.

It's the start of Spring Break for the students. Leave Thursday afternoon/night to drive if you don't have class on Friday. Too me it seems like the perfect set up for students. Looks like every basketball school in the AAC has Spring Break either the week before or after the weekend of the tournament, except Hitachi State.
