Good point. They have a freshman Jhivvan Jackson who has won CUSA FOTW 6 times.

Gonna have to pay him a lot of attention. He shoots 30% of the time when he's on the floor.

Yeah but they were at home and that make a difference. They beat uab on the road but uab has been looking rough the last few weeks

Here's the good news: they foul a lot (defensive free throw rate of about .435). When we have a free throw rate greater than .30, we are 15-0.

RE: UTSA
Thursday 8:00 at the Ted: UTSA (14-11, 7-5 CUSA).

Results to date: SE Oklahoma St (79-67); E Central (92-59); Texas St (79-78); Coastal Carolina (69-83); Bradley (69-71); JMU (90-77); TAMU-Corpus Christi (72-58); Tulsa (96-100); Ottawa (125-64); Utah Valley (80-88); Oklahoma (85-97); Houston Baptist (87-71); Bethany (95-67); Nebraska (94-104); Rice (79-66); N Texas (71-72); La Tech (78-76); S Mississippi (83-93); FIU (76-79); FAU (69-73); UTEP (65-61); MTSU (51-75); UAB (82-70); Marshall (81-77); WKU (74-63); UTEP (63-59).

Last game: UTSA made just enough plays down the stretch and survived a close, back-and-forth game in El Paso. Deon Lyle came off the bench to lead the Roadrunners with 18 pts (5-8 3s). UTSA has won 4 straight games for the first time since Jan 2012.

CUSA stats: 72.7 pts (vs 72.0); .418 FG (.331 3s); .664 FT; +4.7 RB; A/TO= 1.00

Starters (CUSA stats).
F Byron Frohnen (6-6 215 So). 26.8 min.; .516 FG; .619 FT; 6.8 RB; 6.4 pts
F Nick Allen (6-8 215 Jr). 24.9 min.; .494 FG (9-27 3s); .429 FT; 6.0 RB; 7.6 pts
G Giovanni DeNacolao (6-3 175 So). 28.8 min.; .437 FG (14-38 3s); .800 FT; 3.7 RB; 3.2 assists; 8.5 pts
G George Wilborn (6-3 195 So). 14.6 min.; .435 FG (4-9 3s); .590 FT; 3.8 RB; 6.8 pts
G Jhivvan Jackson (6-0 160 Fr). 30.6 min.; .438 FG (31-99 3s); .691 FT; 4.5 RB; 1.4 steals; 20.4 pts
Bench
G Deon Lyle (6-5 190 Jr). 18.4 min.; .383 FG (32-75 3s); .429 FT; 3.2 RB; 9.8 pts
G Keaton Wallace (6-3 170 Fr). 27.3 min.; .298 FG (15-59 3s); .833 FT; 4.1 RB; 2.6 assists; 8.2 pts
G Austin Karrer (6-4 190 Sr). 14.6 min.; .315 FG (3-10 3s); 1.00 FT; 3.2 RB; 1.5 pts
F Kendell Ramlal (6-8 225 Sr). 8.6 min.; .500 FG; .700 FT; 3.0 RB; 2.3 pts
F Toby Van Ry (6-10 210 Jr). 8.0 min.; .412 FG; .500 FT; 2.3 RB; 1.7 pts

UTSA has been the surprise team in CUSA this season behind two freshman; Jhivvan Jackson in 6-time FOW (#3 CUSA pts/g, #5 3s/g) and Keaton Wallace (3X FOW). Excellent team defense (#4 CUSA FG% defense, #5 steals/g) and RBing (#2 RB margin). UTSA is tied with Marshall in 3-pt attempts and #2 in makes/g. FT shooting is a weakness (#11 CUSA).

We probably shouldn't guard him past 15 feet since he only shoots 31% from 3. 05-stirthepot

He's shooting 31% on 3s in CUSA. I see that as the more relevant stat. Nonetheless he is a proficient scorer and I wouldn't leave him alone anywhere on the floor.

Philosophical difference. The larger sample size is typically a better indication. The dude is a good player though....very efficient for the amount of shots he takes.
