. . . not to diminish your win in any way, but it helps that we quit playing basketball 3 weeks ago . . . 03-hissyfit

Going to be a fun finish. I think ULM has a chance to take the 3rd seed. We go to USA and Troy and play Ark St. and Little Rock at home. All are very winnable i think we get at least 3 of 4, if not all 4. Playing very good basketball right now. The true freshman Ertel is going to be a force in this league for years to come.

We missed 1,432 free throws in a 4 point loss to Little Rock

I think you just missed 9 (11-20), but it probably seemed like 1,432 since they did decide the game. Amazingly, we hit 19-24 (79%). If we had done that in some other games, we'd have a few more wins.

After witnessing Friday’s game, I’d offer one piece of advice for anyone playing Georgia State - Let Hunter and Simonds hear it early and often.

Hunter is a really good coach and Simonds would have my vote for POTY if I had to choose right now, but holy hell, those guys can get swayed by adversity. Hunter had all but given up before GS missed some late free throws and Simonds got baited into stupid fouls to get him out of the game

This was Simonds’ first time actually playing at GS, but Ron Hunter is not emotionally capable of handling Hanner Fieldhouse.

Hunter cracks me up with his reactions when the opposing team scores. It’s like he believes his squad is supposed to shut you out. I find myself watching him instead of the game.

I think there’s a very real chance UTA does not win a game the rest of the way. The Georgia's at home , TXST on the road, then the tourney.

I might be in the minority of Eagle fans, but I like Ron Hunter. They did exactly what they needed to do with a late 12-point deficit. Luckily we did some of the best free-throw shooting we did all year. Tough break for State.

Until next time. #SouthernNotState

Our season is pretty much over, I don't see us winning the tourney. I would love it but I just don't see it really happening.

I said three weeks ago ULM was about to make a move with Ertel in the lineup. Although the Cajuns handled them in Monroe, that kid is going to be a star in this league.

ULM is shooting the _____ out of it right now.

And, I'd just as soon see them on the other side of the bracket. They are playing great basketball right now.

Cajuns got a test form Texas State, who played Louisiana as well in the Cajundome as anyone has this year.
Then they absolutely bludgeoned UTA.

Cajuns were 38-40 from the FT line in those two games.

Magic number to clinch is two. Georgia State is in Texas this week, Cajuns are in Alabama.

I watched all the teams we played recently and the Cajuns are another level. I know Georgia St. beat y’all, but that’s just basketball. I’d be happy to be on the other side of the bracket. Congrats on a great year in men’s hoops.

You'd need Georgia Southern or ULM to finish in 7th place for that to happen. That's not likely

For Ga Southern here is where we stand on tiebreakers vs 7-8 loss teams right now:

Vs South Alabama— loss first game/play them 2nd time in Statesboro in 2 weeks
vs ULM— Lose tiebreaker/ played them once and lost
Vs Troy— Won 1st game/ play them 2nd time in Statesboro in 2 weeks
vs UTA— Won 1st game/ play themThursday in Arlington
vs Texas St— Lost 1st game/ play the Saturday in San Marcos
