I’ve been watching a lot of the coverage so far... curling included, even though our mixed doubles team underperformed. Side note: USA Curling National Championships will be in Kalamazoo again in Feb. 2019.

Skiing and snowboarding has been good.

The olympics are so corrupt on so many front, and have been for so long, but I still can't help but watch. It is still us vs the world, and love rooting for Americans in every sport; even if I don't understand the sport at all. I can watch anything with great interest if it's USA vs anyone. I like the traditional sports more than the new wave extreme games sports, but I must admit I have been watching some of the snowboarding events with interest.

This will be a tough year for USA men's hockey with the NHL players not participating, but I kind of like being extreme underdogs. Our women with fight it out with Canada again, but I think a few other countries are catching up a little.

I don't have cable, so no...I won't be watching much at all.

I do love the Olympics though. Or I should say I love the spirit of it.

Btw, when it comes to the winter Olympics, it's more like Norway vs. the world. It's both amusing and inspiring that a country of 5 million people can just dominate in the Olympics.

Not really into the Olympics.

It’s the World Cup that I always look forward to. And I still will, even knowing the US team is so bad it didn’t even qualify.

Would love to watch, but I don't have much time for it, unfortunately.

I particularly like watching hockey.

Tried watching some of the Olympics yesterday afternoon on NBC, but instead of competition, they had a bunch of warm-fuzzy BS features on athletes. Screw that! This is every four years, show action and competition. I don't need to know the athlete's family history. So I switched to the Pebble Beach pro-am...more action and no BS feature stories.

I don't have cable either, but i've been watching a ton of Olympic coverage. If you can, avoid NBC and go with CBC. Both are free to watch over the air but CBC has far better coverage.

Dear BroncoPhilly,
I am an old fart, and was a member of the Detroit Curling Club for twenty-five years. It is a great game to participate in. Remember this, the Scots are responsible for two of the most frustrating games to play; curling and golf. Most people shy away from curling because they are not sure of how to play something on ice, without being on skates.

Ha!

But the Brits created what is possibly the world's toughest sport, water polo.

A group was playing rugby and, after a few pints, someone suggested they play it in the river, in deep water...WTF?!

I'm an old fart as well. I was grandfathered in.

The Brits are famous (infamous?) for creating games when they were soused. Badminton and Horse polo are two others that come to mind. What, what?!

My old high school football coach would recommend/require offensive and defensive linemen to play badminton during the off season. Said it was good for their footwork. He'd organize tournaments and things would get intense between the big'ns.
