Texas Tech has to be pissed. They should be a 2 over KU right now. I can't belive KU is the number 6 overall right now.

He seemed to imply that they were actually a little higher but had to be switched with Kansas? Unless I interpreted that wrong.

It seemed like they may have been saying it was UC as 6 and Kansas as 8 but swapped.

Yeah, something about competitive balence. That swap actually would've prevented us from going out to California again. If only we could be so lucky come March

I think Texas tech is being undervalued now too. Shocked by Oklahoma as a 4 seed. That's insane.

Oklahoma is a stretch right now to me, but this shows the committee is really valuing overall resumes over recency bias.

Quad 1 and quad 2 wins really tell most the story. It's why Kansas is a 2. It's why michigan State is only a 3.

If we are in a situation where it is between being the worst 2 in a region with MSU and Virginia, or the best 3 with a weaker 2 and 1, I would take that. I'd prefer to avoid Sparty.

Ya I'm not a fan of this new Quad 1 and 2 stuff (though it likely benefits us this year). Seems like it has a lot of weaknesses.

Committee has always had an rpi focus. No surprise. Kenpom is great for talk about how good teams are but committee used own criteria. Used to be rpi top 50, 100 wins... now it-s quad 1 quad 2 wins

I think with tOSU and TT coming on strong lately, they may have bumped us off the 2 line. I have a hard time putting Kansas as 3 still because how they have looked, but their computer numbers are still legit and their overall body if work is still nice.
1: Virginia, Nova, Xavier, Mich. ST.
2: Purdue, Auburn, Ohio State, TT
3: UC, Clemson, Duke, Kansas
4: Rhode Island, Tennessee, Gonzaga, North Carolina
No way in hell TO$U or Auburn in front of us
We shall see at 1230. This is what my gut tells me.
Your skepticism is well-understood. However, I'm glad you were wrong on this one :)

It's better than old rpi to 50/100 because it accounts for difficulty of winning on the road. Using the rpi will always be problematic

I agree with with both points, as long as the RPI is around/quoted there will always be problems.

Not surprising as UC is usually in a tough bracket and X gets an easy one. X bracket is filled with a bunch of football schools who don't have much Tournament experience and fan bases that don't travel well. They have a walk to the Elite 8, however I would pick Wichita State to make the Final 4.
