He whiffed in not recognizing the mood of the country and acknowledging that millions and millions of his country men are very activated by this type of alleged conduct. He had a chance to LEAD by acknowledging there have for far to long been victims to this kind of behavior. He could have won over the respect of many women and men who have suffered domestic abuse by just giving them a nodding acknowledgement.
The problem is not that he's not a politician, it's that he has no empathy and thus did not recognize the moment. That can't be taught. He simply doesn't have it and that's what makes him a terrible leader.

And yet there were 22 candidates for president and he was the ONLY one who had empathy for the middle class blue collar employees without college degrees. He was the only one who seemed to understand they existed.

He, of course, misses other moments, like when that Muslim woman asked him a question in the debates and rather than starting with a conciliatory note, started by saying Muslims needed to do better reporting violent extremists in the Mosques.

We are all stuck in our own paradigms. Trump is no worse at that than just about anybody else in DC. Maybe better than most. Certainly a lot better than Hillary. And it was hardly Obama's strong suit either.

Whatever Hillary and Obama were/weren't is irrelevant. She isn't the prez and neither is Obama. Trump is.

I'll definitely give him credit for sensing the anger of the blue collar worker and taking advantage of that. No denying that. But don't confuse manipulating a whole class of angry, frightened people with empathy. It's not, it's simply a level of hypocracy we've never seen before.
Trump only cares about Trump. Book it.

So you don't want to talk about the sins of the people you supported, only those of people you didn't. He had a lot more empathy than his opponent.

Calling them "angry and frightened" and "manipulated" indicates you are pretty devoid of empathy. Maybe don't even understand what it means.

Trump promised to do something for them and is trying to. Hillary wanted to throw them out of jobs. Many Democrats just wish they would die.

Good Lord Bullet, don't say such crazy things. No one wants anybody dead
I was and am no fan of Hillary. But she is no longer relevant. Why discuss her? I could just as easily bring up Cheney who robbed the defense dept blind thru Halliburton, but so what it's over. Trump is the one in a position to harm us all now.

He can't be trusted to have the discipline to stay on message or even have the same response to the same question. He's winging it and has no intellectual curiousity.

4-d chess though. LOL

This administration never ceases to amaze. They actually had some nice momentum and goodwill coming off of the State of the Union and now the budget deal.

Then they go out of their way to praise a guy accused of abusing 2 women (one with a nice shiner as photographic evidence). So much for that momentum.

That’s not the left wing media creating fake news to bring the president down (the go to line from the water carriers on here).

That’s the president whiffing on a softball (hell a beachball) teed up for him. That’s an easy one. This administration just can’t get out of their own way. It would be funny if it wasn’t so embarrassing and sad.

So he was nice to a guy who served him well. A guy who claimed he was innocent. Trump never opined on whether that was true or not. It was a very human response. Something the leftist media has no understanding of.

Politically, he could have said nothing or implicity condemned the man. But Trump says what he feels, not solely what is most beneficial politically. He's not a cold calculating soulless politician like most of the people in DC.

LOL
Is that why he fired Comey the way he did? Is that why he calls the other lackeys connected to the Russians, coffee boys. Etc.

There aren’t enough LOLs in the world for that spin. Gee whiz aw shucks, Trump responded that way because he’s such a kind hearted, loyal every man. What a sweet guy! Lol

I've heard that a lot in quotes and message boards (not on this one). Yes, there are some really crazy people out there.

Hillary keeps talking. Dems talk about her running again in 2020. And if you criticize one side, you need to offer an alternative. Your alternative is even worse.

I take it you are too lazy to watch the video and get all your thoughts from talking points.

She's not running for dog catcher. Her day has come and gone. This last election was unprecedented. Two of the worst possible people running for president. This country was bound to suffer whoever won.
