Tribe Athletics Strategic Plan Survey
Just arrived in my inbox... looks like it was sent to Tribe Club donors.

Has this been done before?

Quote:Over the next few months, our athletics program will be working with The PICTOR Group, an intercollegiate athletics consulting firm, to assist us in engaging in a strategic thinking, visioning and planning process. A critical piece of this process is gathering feedback from several constituencies, including our passionate supporters.

I don't remember, but I like the proactive approach. Already completed mine.

Filled mine out today. Be sure to use the "Other" boxes to express more in-depth ideas, as you go through the survey.

If you get the opportunity to express yourself, do so.

I like it. Had a hard time not answering everything MOST IMPORTANT.

We have a long way to go.

True. But I decided so many things like integrity and accountability/transparency comes naturally if you have quality people that you treat appropriately. Money and marketing (along with facility upgrades) will be the ultimate driver of success assuming we continue to make good hires.

Lots of the canned questions were a little vague, IMO. But the option to enter your own answers made it worthwhile.

Tried to fill it out, but it kept locking up.

Many of the questions or categories are really intended for employees. I have no way of knowing about morale and a bunch of the other things they asked.

Some of the questions asked a lot about loyalty, integrity, academics. I saw some of these coming across as, "Is it OK to kick puppies?" You wind up responding that everything is important or very important and almost feel bad for saying that winning is really important.

Am curious to learn how the consultants concluded W&M has peers in the CAA. Am hopeful the consultants’ work will include collection of objective data that could indicate what schools have some similarities with W&M’s athletic circumstances.

Yes, just like the question of what school should W&M aspire to be like. I answered that other schools should aspire to be like W&M.

Just submitted the survey. It was hard not to rate everything as very important. Other ratings seemed to be like being against motherhood.

RE: Tribe Athletics Strategic Plan Survey
I think the peer question and the CAA question were THE questions, surrounded by a bunch of soft ball questions. It wouldn't surprise me if those two questions were the survey, and the rest was window dressing, so as not to appear to be too obvious.

No surprise to all of you ... my peers were three ACC schools, a public Ivy, and a service academy school ... no Patriots or Ivies.

Would hope that the results of the peer question is publicized so that we know where the fan base is on this topic.

RE: Tribe Athletics Strategic Plan Survey
I just submitted mine.

Remember that Huge works with the consultants to figure out what questions to ask. She's got an agenda and wants to figure out how the alumni, staff, and college are in line with that. I assume it went to anyone who they have an email address including us (fans, alumni) as well as the entire college email directory.

I had fun filling it out and gave a lot of comments.

Would love to see a follow up survey geared just toward facilities and what stakeholders would like to see added/changed.

Just wanted to see if anyone knows what was done with the results, etc. Sounded like a very important effort by Huge.

RE: Tribe Athletics Strategic Plan Survey
I did receive a followup phone call from the Pictor Group VP about a month after I sent my survey back and had an approximate thirty minute discussion
to further enlarge on my views. It was a very thorough discussion and I felt they really wanted to find the right answers.
